This is a request to all the talented sculptors on LAF. Recently, some very nice Innsmouth hybrids has been produced by Black Cat Bases and the ones Rattrap Productions sells. But most Deep Ones still looks like, in my opinion, boring lizards, taken from an old '50s sci-fi movie. Can someone, please, sculpt some cool Deep Ones. Perhaps with more physical features and character.
Just look at these awesome Deep One sculptures and masks:

Seconded, thirded and fourthed, the current deep ones are fine as far as I can tell (don't own any yet, so it's not an informed opinion), but some of these would be fantastic!!! Someone contact Paul Muller, quick!!!! ;)

Beautiful!
Agreed agreed agreed on mini sculpts!! :D
May I point out Four A Miniatures (http://www.fouraminiatures.com/page4.htm). He's got a few Deep One types, and cultists.

Yeah, no offense to any out there, but I've still not seen the definitive 'Deep One'. There are some decent ones, but none that really make me go :o :o
I've seen most of those busts before, and would love to see that in 28mm!
This one, as mentioned above, is a Four-A mini..If we could get some bigger ones of these, that'd be closer! (this one is 'boy sized') And it's a Paul Muller to boot.

As far as 'hybrids' go, I agree, Blackstone created some of the coolest I've seen. Available at Rattrap.

Now if somebody could put this one in production:

That "Four-a-mini" miniature have that "something" I would like to see in future Deep Ones-lines. Lovecraft describes them as horrible creatures and many of the existing Deep Ones looks to harmless.
And I would not cry myself to sleep if the sculptor/s skipped the monotonous "Frog-bodies". Give them personal characteristics. One could be fat as an overfed hamster. Another muscular as Schwarzenegger in his youth. :)
Nice sculpt Achab. I love the rabid face on that one!

Exactly!

Nice little thread this.Great to see one of the Four A miniature figures shown too.
I have just sent off an email to a sculptor about some new pieces ;).
I have painted versions of the Piranha Boy miniature which I need to get up onto the web site. There are also the Sea Demon's which might be usefull too.
Fenris Games have the Deepones which are great pieces.Ian also has more which have not been released yet.

Great finds gentlemen. very cool.

Those masks are super-scary, perfect for DeepOnes. I am wondering how the intricate details would turn out when reduced to 28mm and allowing for sculpting/moulding tolerances?

Awesome!

Fenris Games Deep Ones are great but little to big for a whole horde. Hope the new stuff are smaller.

There are some smaller ones in the new mix, plus modern hybrids to go up against the APEX investigators....

Tell us more, or show us the goods! :)

Haven't seen them myself yet, ever since Snuurg moved out from the flat next door I don't get to see greens every day :/
-
So we could expect some new cool Dagon spawns from Fenris Games and Four A Miniatures then?! :)
-
And don't forget Uncle Mike's fishmen. They are my personal favorites for Deep Ones I've found through the ranges- and I am familiar with all the ones mentioned here prior.
But you're right about the lizardy look- a lot of them seem too reptilian and not well, fishy enough. The classic look in my mind are yes those masks you presented in the OP, but also the Koa-Toa from Dungeouns and Dragons.

Sorry if that reference is a little too far out, but I find in a string of a lot of my conversations having both persons knowledge of DnD seems to really ease the flow of conversion... ;)
"What does it look like?"
"Like an ettercap. You know what what an ettercap looks like right?"
"Yes I know."
"Ah, well then- that was easy..."

I like the idea of seeing more of the "hybrid" deep ones that live in town, the ones that in writing were described as passing for odd-looking humans. Disconcerting looking townsfolk.

Rattrap's Hybrid (sculpted by Blackstone) are very much in that vein.
Def. my faves!
