Title: Model T Ambulance or Rugged transport!
Post by: CompanyB on November 02, 2007, 06:23:06 AM
Well, to prove I have not been completely absorbed in by non gaming work.... I managed to crank out the master for what I think will be a a welcome addition to our Model T family. Sorry for the photos..but they'll have to do till I get a new memory card (thank goodness for cell phone cameras!)

This is your basic WW1 ambulance, or in a pinch a Back and Beyond adventure vehicle.  Pack up your dinosaur bones for the long rickety voyage home!

This will be a new complete kit, and as you can see consists of just a few parts.

Also, we've decided to offer the base model T chasis and wheels in the picture as a "scratch builders model"  So you get the stripped down model T base. wheels, and suspension for a low price.  You can then build out your own version of the venerable Model T!

Also, we will offer the Model T armored pickup base model as well.  It essentially has a flat bed area, and come with the suspension and wheels.

So, a new Model T kit, and two stripped down kits to do as you wish.

That's grand, Company B. I'm thinking of a pick-up truck version of this. Or a railcar...

That looks great!   Forgive my ignorance, but where would one order this when it becomes available?

Depends where you are, Whitewolf. If you go to the Company B website it lists the retailers for various countries down the left hand side:

I am in the United States (Chicago area) so Brigade Games is the way to go for me.  Thanks for the help!

Were on the West coast, in Bigfoot country..

but if you order from Lon, you can pick up our sweet drivers and crews for the T's as well.

I might also be able to be convinced to make some open crates with dinosaur eggs or bones.

Capitol idea! Crates are always useful and you can never have too many of them!  8)

Well, we already offer the closed crates and bedrolls.... Open crates with separate tops filled with assorted contraband would be a logical next step.

You want empty crates with separate lids?  or some filled with dinosaur eggs, gun caches, shrunken heads and gold?

Hi Brent, Is there a chance we may see an American Driver so it can go with my BG US Marines for the Western Front?

Cheers :)

hmmm, I think Lon and I discussed having one before.

It might be something I ask our mutual friend Mike Broadbent about.  He's working on a few other sculpts for me anyway (or will be soon!)

I think open headed crates showing various contents (guns, bones) would be quite useful as it helps tell the story.

I think that´s a bit over the top, indeed. Although I have to say I´m strangely less offended by the thought of a shapely damsel in distress (not necessarily, or preferably not!) in a box.

You are right. Bad taste given what's going on arround us all the time. Sorry. I was thinking of that particular case from the 30ies.

Egads, this is quite a list!

Tell you what, these are all good ideas...and a packet of bits with all of these would be very affordable if they were all cast in metal and put on small sprues.

I can probably start a few of these ideas..but if anyone wants to sculpt/create/master something and contribute let me know!   Anyone who contributes a piece will get a couple of full sets and some crates.  Their name and handicraft will be credited on an insert in the package.  Since these are all small, I can probably get all of them and more on one spin mold.

Any takers?  I'll start on all the archeology items....

I'd be interested. I could do hootch and gold bars and some mechanical doohicky. I am a little hazy on which material is allowed for masters. Will polystyrene work for example? Also what are the dimensions of the crate? I guess I better order one.

I can post interior crate dimensions and pics.  I'll get to that this week.

Materials are:
Greenstuff, brownstuff, procreate, aluminum, brass   (for masters ready to cast)

Plastic (I need to convert to metal)  So if plastic is used, the entire piece needs to be all plastic..no wire pegs, etc so that it burns away completely.

Plastic masters, we use a lost wax method to make a brass master.  The plastic original is burned up in the process...but it works great, and we have yet to ever get a bad master.

OK, great! I've done my hootch crates with standig bottles in polystyrene rod and tube before but I think I'll do them in brass this time, since I need to ship them.

This is going to be fun!

Did you post the dimensions anywhere? I wouldn't mind having a go at sculpting a few items.
