Hi
A final batch of painted examples from our 28mm SF Cobalt-1 Range. All painted by Jez from Shakespeare Studios.

Those are really nice!
The paint really shows off how much character there is in this line.
-
I like those a lot, especially moustache and glasses guy. Sort of looks like Teddy Roosevelt from the future. lol They do have a lot of weird, unique character, which is something often missing from SF miniature lines these days.
-
Really nice paintjob. Those Aliens are interesting figures 8)
-
Very cool! The jet bike is one of my favorite
-
Great work.
-
Beautiful work. I love those aliens. Will have to get some and steal your PJ idea.
-
The tone of the Whole Cobalt-1 line is harkening to the Halcyon days of Rogue Trader for me. When the models actually had character and gamers were encouraged to use other vehicle models...ah, imagination, we hardly knew thee.
-
very nice sculpts!
I especially like those alien riflemen!
-
Nice minis. Lovely brushwork. My favourite is the guy with the moustache. The aliens look good too. They are not the typical bipeds you usually see.
-
Some of those minis are perfect for Dark Heresy!

What's the story with the tubby pirate's left arm? Has his forearm been replaced with some sort of augmentic? I don't know the Cobalt backstory so I'm curious why the mini looks that way.
-
I thought it was a miscast. The left hand and right foot were absent on the one I received, so I added a hand/foot. So it's supposed to be that way?

It seems like that's the way he's supposed to look. I'd probably add a hand and foot as well.

The hand, maybe. But the outline and a trace of 'debris' from the foot is visible on the base. Perhaps there were hand variations that didn't get finished or passed along with the original?
Either way, I fixed mine. Great figs.

Here's a page with a pic of the green. I gotta say it's an odd look on the arm and leg, by 'odd' I mean that it's ambiguous.

That said I really like him, I'll get the figure eventually too :)

Oh, wow! Those are simply brilliant. :-*

A while back I painted up some of the Aruks. Here's a few pics:

And there's more on my blog here:

This thread spurred me to order some of the latest minis to be used in a Dark Heresy game I intend to run soon. I'll be using the FATE RPG mechanics, but all of the great background from DH.

Hi
Yes, the Space Pirate should have a missing hand and foot - Bob sculpted it that way, it isn't a miscast.
The Aruk look great Scott, looking forward to see what you do with the new figures.
