:o ;D
WOW!
-
It's actually happening :)
-
Wow! :o
-
Oh yeah - that looks promising but would like to see more pictures of the green men, the brief glimse in that clip looked a bit Jar Jar Binks!
-
Brilliant just brilliant........
Can't wait now

Interesting. Time will tell...
-
Nice. THERE MUST BE TOYS (especially the flyers)!
-
Looks brilliant, been waiting for this movie for over 30 years now! :D
-
And Disney no less, so we know its not gunna be a shoddy production value!
-
I got an erection. I too am praying for toys.
-
There's got to be toys, they make lots of money from the toys.
-
Wooooohoooooo! 8)
-
Oh the toys will be coming :D
-
But will they be in the proper band of acceptable scales?
--Froggy, pouring oil on the fire.
-
They will be meticulously scaled to fit precisely into the box whose dimensions have been decreed by the marketing department, based upon available retail space and projected sales volume.
-
And Disney no less, so we know its not gunna be a shoddy production value!
But quite possibly a shoddy story line :?
I do like the look of it though 8)
cheers

I'm still unsure about the over all style of the airships. ???

I don't really know what I was expecting but... I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more pictures.
-
I was totally psyched for this movie (and have waited uncounted years for it) but am not too impressed with the trailer. Looks very different than anything I pictured reading the novels (and looking at all those classic old illustrations.) I hope I'll be proven wrong.
-
Happy dance lol
-
It looks pretty cool to me, nothing looked too out of place other than the fact that everyone had clothes on ;)
I cant wait to see it, but the potential for disappointment is pretty high.
-
I have to say that besides having heard of it a few times in the past I don't really have much connection with this franchise, so I suppose I wont have much accepting the movie for whatever it will be, so yea I'm looking forward to it.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. Lord Voldemort.

My guess is it won't be set on Mars. The flyers are not at all what I've pictured often in my mind. I hope they keep the Confederate back story.

Actually, according to the "About" section of the official website, it is set on Mars. Also they still have the "M" for Mars in the official logo.

I'm glad it's set on Mars that takes a bit of worry away.

I'm not terribly impressed. Mars doesn't look alien enough for me, nor does Deja Thoris, who looks more like an introspective American Indian than a haughty Martian princess. Dammit, she should simply be REDDER. As to the scenary; Instead of the Badlands, I want scenary that's completely different from what can be found here. And I agree that the ships aren't anything like I envisioned. Instead of looming Art Deco speeders, we have delicate flitters. Love that Jar-Jar Binks comment, which is, unfortunately, pretty accurate. I have the uncomfortable feeling that this is going to be an updated Dances With Wolves, set on a Mars that looks remarkably like the American Southwest.
-
The more I see, the less I'm excited. I'll probably see it anyway.
-
I too have been waiting for this for soooo long :)
The trailer looks good without being Wow! The Dances with wolves comment sounds right or maybe another Avatar clone.
However one good thing going for it is the director/screen writer. Its Andrew Stanton who made the fantastic Wall. E and has cowrote a lot of the other Pixar films.
I think he will keep to the essence of the book/s.
The main problem would be that these books have been copied and ripped off for so long that people will think that this film is copying those films :-[
I agree the flyers don't look anything like I imagined them and unfortunately Dejah Thoris doesn't appear to have the essential "assets" for the role ;)
I too will see it anyway :)
Cheers

Looks to me like I'm gonna hate it.
I read them first in 1978-81 and got a specific image in my head (Frazetta inspired) And I think Disney's gonna ruin it.
Looks like its gonna be (more or less) A Princess of Mars.
BTW was that chick supposed to be Deja Thoris?
-
I just watched the trailer again while waiting for HP 7+ to start. It definitely looks like it is worth seeing to me.
-
Slightly off topic, but the new Conan movie looks like it'll be cool!
Is that the guy who played Ronin on SG Atlantis doing the cimerain?

Yes it is.
-
At least it looks better than Avatar.
Can't wait to see the toys though.
-
I hope that the rest of the movie is as good as the trailer. :o To many times these days the trailer is the best part of the entire show.

Yes it is.
SWEET!
HE should be outstanding (ask a Misguided Child of Uncle Sam what that means) in that role.
PS, I agree with the above comment, the fliers in the JCWoM are NOwhere near what I had in mind. Always thought of them as boxy yet sleek, Art neauvou, chrome covered things. Think like the streamlined steam locomotives of the 30's, Streamlined campers
