Title: Statuesque Miniatures
Post by: stone-cold-lead on 18 July 2011, 09:35:54 AM
Painted these up recently. Based them on Fenris' Cthulu bases as I thought they'd perhaps fit into a modern Cthulu setting. Photo's aren't great as I'm having a few problems with the new light tent, but you get the idea.

Bases are 25mm so a good match for regular slottas.

Yeah, always struggled to get my photo's lit well so bought this light tent and now my photo's are too bright. Even in a dimly lit room with no artificial light sources it can still be too bright and my camera for some reason struggles to focus on the subject now.

Nice minis and excellently painted. But 33mm to eyeline sounds like a big not usable with any other miniature company... Too bad.

As said elsewhere; Superb  :-*

You'd be surprised....

Lovely lovey work Simon!  :D

Well, most are actually 33mm tall and as it's come up before there's this post on the website: http://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/home/comparisonpictures (http://www.statuesqueminiatures.co.uk/home/comparisonpictures)

I took the decision to list as accurately as possible the actually sizes of my figures, rather than mislabel them 28mm/32mm or whatever. Does cause some confusion though...  :)

Allow me to add my voice to the chorus of praise! Nice miniatures and absolutely spectacular painting. I really like the bald guy although he is oddly longish in stature. The painting of the green dress is just mind-bogglingly beautiful!

Size wise they sit pretty well alongside a number of other manufacturers (as already noted). I think they look deceptively tall because of their slim proportions.

Ta again all for the positive comments.

See I take some dreadful pictures, truly awful some of them, and often of not too smart paintjobs. Your expression of difficulties seem akin to thinking the Mona Lisa is alright, apart from the look on the face.  ;)

Very, very smart. Makes me envious, as my own paint jobs are often lacking, and its rare that I spend enough time and thinking power on making some of my figs look a bit better than my average work! But its quite inspiring to see stuff of this quality.

And no matter how well I paint something I'll still notice all the flaws.  ;D

Damn fine work.  I need more problems with my light tent.  I also need to not paint late at night after several beers.  ;-)
