Title: Another steamer
Post by: SirAlban on 18 July 2011, 07:30:58 PM
I´m start to thinking I´m the only member of this forum who hasn´t build his own steamer :?

I bought this ship a few weeks ago. Isn´t really big, and the hull isn´t the most apropiated too, but I think it will look ok whit a bit of work.

I can see this working really well. As nice as the full model is it looks even better stripped down. Keep the updates coming.

Well, is a bit "tiny" to make a tramp steamer. I´m thinking in make something like this:

If I will ever join the forces of Pulp or colonial wars, my favorit is clearly this beauty! Schaarhoern (Schaarhörn)

(German)

http://www.u-boot-net.de/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=1823

It is an old steamer docked in Hamburg, northern Germany with a nice history. But more important is, that it looks quite pulpy and colonial to me. Even similar to the steamer on the lake in "AfricanQueen" (though a lot smaller).

I LOVE this grand old dame! There are many pix in the net about this Schaarhörn (oe as a German-style Ersatz for ö ^^) cause she was (or still is) part of the Hamburger-Sail and other festivities.
Hope, the pix will help with some inspiration(s).

beste wishes
