Great painting and an interesting mix of ranges. I especially like the way you did the banners for the Whites.

Good job. Congratulations!
Flags interesting, but their historical accuracy is sometimes a bit questionable  ;)

Yes I know the flags are not historical just what I could get my hands on really or make.

I find the guy with the two signal flags extremely interesting - I don't know if it is historically accurate and didn't have anything to go on when I painted mine about a year ago. It's funny to note that I you used the same colors for flags that I did and for each hand!

That's what I have information on the color signal flags in the Russian army:

Transmission of information is a semaphore signalmen using check boxes, the size of tissue which is 30x35 cm color of the fabric of flags depends on the time of the day: the night-time use boxes with light-colored cloth (yellow, white), and in the daytime - the fabric of dark tones (red, black).

Red Sveta,
What figures are they? Copplestone I recognize, and the others? Also who makes those trenches please...simply an outstanding looking game! I'd play.

Musketeer WW1 Russians

The gun and crew are of course Coppelstone, the signaler and generals are Musketeer minis, the officer with the binoculars is a Redoubt figure from their Russo-Japanese war.  It is a great period to play I don't know why its not more popular.

Ah...thanks. Actually I meant the Infantry squad with the white flag (sorry should have been more clear)...they look like Old Glory WWI?; particularly the Standard Bearer with the beard. And the trenches?

You are right they are old glory WW1 Russians. I can not remember the make of the trenches. I got them years ago when I was really into the Indian Mutiny. they were going to be Cawnpore.

My apologies for the somewhat belated question, but how to the Redoubt minis compare to Copplestone and Musketeer in terms of size? It's rather difficult to judge from the pictures. I'm thinking of getting a few of their products but I don't want them to look silly beside the others.

Nice work!  The Russians used signal flags into the modern era with their tanks I hear.  I do like the gun.
