Hi
Before I sit down and write some does anyone know any decent character driven rules out there that can still be got (WEG rules are impossible to get). I have made variants for 7TV 5150 and my Flying Lead but not fully happy with them. 7Tv is the closest but not enough super villians in the original films to keep the excellent feel up for the dark side player (DV and 16 stormtroopers is boring after first couple of times).
So save me days work please :)

You could try adapting Necromunda. Or the Savage worlds rules are very good and adaptable. I think there is a showdown Star Wars version on the internet somewhere.

Or maybe a version of Tomorrows war with custom characters...
Its a really clever skirmish set and was a free download, but alas no more as the rule book is being printed... I sure someone somewhere has all teh main characters already mapped and written out for this rule set...

I have TW but not the character conversion. Will ask Shawn about it ...

I am working on Blasters & Bulkheads, a Goalsystem skirmish game designed to emulate SPace Opera. If you're interested, I can send you a play-test doc. They're very character driven, and include some campaign rules. Let me know.

I have been watching the development of this set on your blog.
I am looking forward to their release. A big ol' stint of Star Wars gaming is long overdue.

I would second Savage Worlds, its has a style that fits starwars very much. some of the weapons have already been statted and the rest should be no problem. (should you want some help with that do PM me)

Perfecting a TSATF varient for unit driven Star Wars gaming now.
For my Tatooine Outpost besieged by Sand People, using the GREAT, and free "Rorkes Drift, It's Jolly Deadly ol' Boy" masterpiece by Chris Feree (The BEST siege rules out there)

I know you list 5150 as one of the systems you have already tried to morph into SW, but have you had a look at the new version 5150 Star Army. It might be a better fit.

Star army is no good as it is platoon plus level but the new one is (I am plytesting it). Decided to do my own dedicated set though :)

Always the best option. I'm looking forward to seeing how the new 5150 plays out.

Sorry to butt in, but should be pretty easy to get WEG's Star Wars Miniatures Battles? Noble Knight seems to carry several copies of both the 1st and 2nd editions? Postage can be high, but if you choose 'printed material' option, then it will be pretty palatable.
-
But the WEG miniature battles is not really about the characters, got a copy the other day and was very disappointed ... nearly finished mine now anyway :)
-
right you are, Rich.

All done ... a pastiche of all my favourite bits from my favourite rules. Might add a card system ala 7TV if they play OK.
If anyone who knows me wants to try them give me an email :)

Now I can actually play some games and be happy ... Maybe!
