Title: true meaning of tea wars ( teapot tank ) wonderland
Post by: thomas oliver on 02 August 2011, 02:24:19 PM
Ive started to think of vsf wonderland wars and came up with the idea of a teapot tank inspired by the new alice game madness returns. Ive only bluetacks the parts together to get a feel of what it could look like, im happy with the front because i saw of feel tht it looks like a face but im wondering if it could do with more fire power ive also got some port holes to put on as well but i sort of the get the feeling its missing some thing. Ive also included the figure im using for caterpillar, madhatter and the card soldiers.

let me know what you think and another thing im stuck what paint scheme would be best .

Don't get me wrong, it shows some very nifty craftsmanship ... but overall it looks a bit ... peculiar ... to me.

Your Buckingham Palace on the other hand left me just speechless. VERY nice one.  :o

i want one. :)

Maybe some HMG on the sides of the teapot would be great, but probably it's too complicated to do with a real teapot! :)

Brilliant! I will probably steal that idea!  :)

Also interested in learning the origins of the card soldiers.

Great conversion!
If you haven't done so already, I recommend you read, "The Looking Glass Wars":

Yes, we've drooled in several threads on the palace...  lol

I would say what's 'wrong' is the jarring between the legs and pot colors. I'd suggest something similar to the pot's current scheme, just to keep the fantasy land theme going, perhaps with gold trim, but I've been dubbed a sick puppy before. Alas, it would call for Wonderland terrain as well, methinks.

Chris, does the Looking Glass Wars border have Wonderland vs. Reality juxtaposition? Now, that WOULD look smashing!

I think Sir Randall may have the book; he's been rather ahead of me in reading, though I've yet to get the Ulysses Quicksilver trilogy to him...

The tank is brilliant.  I think red and bronzey metallic would suit the tank.  I love the idea of a Wonderland game.  Anyone remember the Dungeonland D&D adventure module? Great fun.

cheers for all the comments i was stuck on weather or not it needed more weapons for the size of it. i was thinking alot of metal colours.

the card soldiers ive had sculpted by Patrick Mondria and then cast by tablewarfare but couldnt sell them because of the copyright they look like the ones from the film.

I don't know that the cards look that close to the film - there are plenty of different illustrations around for Alice, and if you do a quick search there's a lot of merchandise available, I doubt that much if any is covered by licensing.
You could always just make them available here by private subscription rather than openly selling them.

I would love to get some of those card soldiers.  An army of these guys would be great.  Hope you finda way to sell them.

This is the only pic I could find from the film:

Does it come with scones, jam and cream?
I couldn't possibly approve unless it comes with the appropriate comestibles.

Looking good. More photos!!!!!

Alice in Wonderland; I was thinking it a different production, but I'm getting it as coming from the movie with Mia Wasikowska as Alice, though EVERYBODY knows it as 'Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter'. ;->=

Am I TOO impatient in wanting an update?  :D

Shared, I'm sure. ;->= However, the Jabberwocky was of particular interest to me. I've always thought those paper-roll cores could be of use, but never foresaw this one.

*ahem* I believe that's a cue for an update on the original subject, the tank!  :D

2 Pieces of 1' electrical cable 75 cents each shaped and stuffed inside. Cheap and it fit perfectly.
