I'm loving that people start showing 1/72 armies in here!

My first love as far as wargaming goes was Airfix naps - I actually wrote up my own (not very good) rules from scratch from about the age og 14 or so (ended up ditching them and adapting Warmaster instead).

Wonderful collection of celts!

What rules du you use? Impetus or the likes? DBM? Warmaster Ancients, even?

I am begining to feel like getting my plastics out again, any day soon (fall/winter may be a good opportunity) - I have had a 1/72 caesarian legion in about 1/8 ready for priming for years (in some drawer), and several unopened boxes of celts in a cardbox elsewhere.

I also cut my teeth on 1/72nd plastics with home-made rules. We always had to repaint them after every battle since the paint flaked off though. I guess the new plastics are stiffer?

I painted most minis with enamels back then, but he minis do have to be washed with a detergent, and then rinsed thoroughtly before priming.

Basing the minis also helps, as you don't have to touch the critters much after that.

1/72 still is rather soft plastic, Hät a bit stiffer that the average.

I'm just printing the Basic Impetus rules to start planning 2 small armies  :D

I just remembered that I have about 9 infantry stands of early republican Romans almost done for Warmaster Ancients - but the bases are almost 8 cm wide, so....  ;)

Now I just have to dig out those celts!
