The table at the start of today's game.
The Tennessee Brigade on the Rebel right passes Rawnsley Farm.
The North Carolina Brigade amidst the wheat on the Rebel left.
New York troops make up the Union right and centre.
The Reb's battle line begins to deploy.
The Union line advances boldly: in the foreground the New Yorkers press the Reb's skirmish line while to the rear the Irish Brigade storm across the creek.
The Union right prepares to turn the Reb's left flank.
The Union centre engages the REb's in a fire fight.
And follows its success up by driving in the centre of the Reb's line.
All along the front the Reb's are falling back or fleeing! The end of turn 8 and the end of the game..."Cheer, boys, cheer!"
Eight turns played in two and a half hours. Each side had three brigades in an encounter battle, with Phil's Rebs winning the initiative at the start, despite only rolling 3 on 2 x D6!!!
Obviously, my dice were saving their best until later in the game...

Foundry have an ACW themed open day this Friday and Saturday, so I would imagine end of this week or early next.

Thanks John!
Hope the holiday is going well....

Good to see God's own period and God's own scale make a resurgence here, excellent stuff. Tell me, are those markers something of your own devising, or do they come from the rules, which of course are of your own devising, if that makes the slightest bit of sense?

Lovely time, thanks, but I see that the open day is cancelled. Gosh, I leave the country for afew days and all hell breaks out.

The markers are stackable shapes I picked up at a show a while ago: they help keep track of firing by units without paperwork, as you get a bonus dice for first firing and a reduction for third time and after. Could n't get any metalic ones, as they are vaguely bullet shaped and would have looked better. The small white dice are simply to help me remember how many casualties suffered that turn. Mind not what it was at 61 you see... ;)

Thanks David, a good idea, and doubtless one which I shall steal. As to your mind, well given your recent output it looks like its working fine!!

Immitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so, Thanks!
As to mind, well, what was I saying.... ;)
