Last weekend we had a very large room and staged a big napoleonic battle. The game was based on a fictional scenario forcing the french to build a pontoon bridge over a river and simultaneously attacking a superior combined prussian-russian force. We were 9 gamers having a great weekend and lots of fun!

Breathless terrain!
Is the church scratch-built? :)
-
I'd like to say "phwoooarrr..." but I'm not sure it's entirely apropriate. lol
Beautiful figures and scenery, very jealous. It's not everyone who can make Naps enticing for me.
-
Wow.
And furthermore, WOW. :o

Amazing terrain and miniatures! How many figures were involved?

No, as far as I know it's by Grand Manner.
Amazing terrain and miniatures! How many figures were involved?
Around 1.000 miniatures.
What rules do you use?
Black Powder; they worked for our Thirty Years War games, and they work very nicely for our napoleonic ones.

Well, the table measured 7,00 x 1,50 m, I havn't seen any useful pics of the whole table. It's very difficult to photograph something like this, and even then you wouldn't recognise much.
Besides, we had more tables in the off-board zones for preparing all the troops before deploying ... :D

Great set-up and beautiful minis :-*
-
fascinating, Michael, what a wonderful setting, very impressive!
-
That is superb, bravo!
Really like the pontoon.

Thanks for the reply Michael :)
How did you find BP overall as a ruleset, gameplay etc (I have a copy, I just like hearing other people's opinions about it).
I've played a couple of micro armour games that had just about as many set up tables as gaming ones lol
cheers

Is the pontoon scratch built?

Great, Great, Great. Do you think I like it. :-* Thank you for sharing. It is a level that many of us wish we could achieve, but seldom do.
-
Those carts sure do get around and look good doing it. I have no interest in Napoleonic games but I could have spent hours admiring that set up. :) Great work.
-
Stunning stuff , just stunning :-*

'nuff said.

Wow.. just.. wow that is one hell of a table.

Another Wow
That is just tops - all of it -the figs, scenery, river, buildings ... just ace

Outstanding !
Drooling on these pictures is another proof that I finally reached the age to be a Napoleonic wargamer.... A chosen one... ;)
Anyway...thanks for sharing this with us Sir Benbow !
Cheers

Usually 'grognard' is used ;)
I started collecting and painting naps (Airfix 1/72) at about age 12 or 13, I think - long before I knew anything about wargaming, so no particular 'coming of age' is needed (or I was just born old) lol

Stunning stuff :-* :-* :-*
Is the pontoon scratch built?
No, it's by Renedra: http://renedra.co.uk/webstore.html (http://renedra.co.uk/webstore.html) Have a look just below the building kits; no pics yet, don't know why ...
But there were many additions and conversions added to our bridge.

Superb. That must be what wargaming in heaven must be like.
