Title: The EastIndiaman "Bangkok"
Post by: Wingnut on 21 August 2011, 07:21:50 AM
This is the last ship I will complete before the convention in September. It brings me up to about 14 ships for the players at Fall-Recruits in Lee's Summit Missouri (USA). This is the Old Glory Eastindiaman with a lot of aftermarket parts.

Some awesome ships and stunning terrain.

Was the blue nun reef scratchbuilt?

What rules do you use?

Looks fantastic, as everything you make/do/paint/build :)

I really wish I could participate in one of your game sessions, it looks like great fun.

@fastolfrus: The Blue Nun is made by the German company Ziterdes I think a branch of NOCH. Her Island I made.

The rules I'm using are called "A Fist full of Seamen" I created them to be fast paced, non scale specific and easy to pick up for large convention games. They're still in test play and currently not available.

Galland: I'll keep you up to date on the conventions and I have a spare room here at the house. Ever visit the U.S.?

I am sorry, but seriously - a Fistful of Seamen?  Say that out loud, man...and then call it a fistful of doubloons or something...

On the other hand, though - beautiful work. Far more than I can ever bring myself to do. I prefer my ships more utilitarian - I don't have the patience for that kind of detail - and I always admire the ones who can pull it off. Which you have, in spades.

You haven't been following his piratical exploits before, haven't you? Otherwise you would know that his theme consists of excellent models and puns that would make a Carry On writer groan. ;)

The name is intentional. Good marketing starts with a name you can't get out of your head, no matter how much you wish you could.

You can't lambast the pun and then use the phrase "I always admire the ones who can pull it off"  :o

Very nice ship, another of the gems hidden amongst the rest at OG

Excellent work. I like the amount of rigging you use on your ships. Makes them look good, but looks like one would be able to move figures on the deck. Thanks for sharing.
