I felt in love with this forum for the works from Plynkes, Frank, Driscoles, Admiral Benbow, etc. And some articles in Wargames magazine from Gary Chalk, makes me love the Dark Africa style of game.
I can't resist to show you a very little advance of my work in Dark Africa atmosphere. Not very historic, maybe you find it fantasiesque ;)
I'm preparing a game based in The Ghost and the Darkness film, with better terrain and miniatures.

I hope you like it.
More soon.

:?
And then I saw second part of your message.
Thankyou.

Hola Mabden, como estas? Bienvenido a LAF.
Sorry that's as much Spanish as i can manage.
I really love how the hut is looking, the designs around the wall are excellent and those miniatures are superb, especially the shields - certainly fantastical, but then, I don't worry so much about historical accuracy. I'd like to see more of this lovely project, please!
-
Beautiful painting on both the hut and the figures. What figures are those, by the way? I don't recognise them.
-
Thanks for your kind words Red Orc, your Spanish is in the same scale than my English ;)
The wall design is take from a modern African hotel, colourful.
I’m not sure about the shields designs, I’m thinking into paint all in zebra pattern.
A great part of this fantasy atmosphere is owing to the fact that I don’t have miniatures from suitable ranges (except some Copplestone arqueologists).
And then I answer you Plynkes. These miniatures are Games Workshop LOTR plastic UrukHai, face cut down, armour and mail cut down, and some milliput to recreate more muscle if necessary. And using masks and shields to cover some mistakes.
Thankyou all.

Si habla castellano ninguna posibilidad de comunicación!

Your English is fine, I'm not so sure about my Spanish... Pierrebi doesn't seem impressed!

Fantastic! I knew I'd seen the poses before, but they look very different now!
-
Looking good.
Así que parece que los hispanoparlantes nos apoderamos poco a poco de LAF, jajaja (inserta risa maquiavélica aquí).
Hope to see more of your work.
Thanks for sharing.
-
Aha! I thought I recognised the poses from somewhere too, but I could not get my brain to make the connection. Very good improvisation.
-
Thanks mago.
We will be imperium once again.
When you have no money to spent you must be imaginative.
:D
-
I like your Hutt, It feats weel with your 2 warriors
-
If you are going to hatch Machiavellian plots, you need to find a more secure code than just speaking to each other in Spanish. lol
-
Thankyou Poulppy.
Hey Plynkes no plot here just fun ;)
I'm very happy with your wellcome, better than any other forum I visited.

that's innovativ, it's probably the first time someone did Darkest Africa conversions with Games Workshop products :) a cool idea, like it.
-
The hut is marvelous. Fantastic painting. The figures look good too. Especially the masks.

Awesome! :-*
-
Simply brilliant, you made some wonderful conversions! :)
For the torsos, why don't you use some WG celts?
-
Estupendo!! muy bien!! Me likey
-
Well, what can I say? Thankyou all for your kind words.
Warlord Celts, I must to remember this Sangennaru, I think isn't hard to find it in my town, and prices are cheap enough. And this is good.
Maybe tomorrow afternoon I will post some other advance.
-
Very nice well done :-*
-
Very nice indeed, especially the painting on the masks.
-
I will paint more masks with diferent styles just for fun.
Some new photos. Just to show you some pieces of terrain.
Behind miniatures begins a kind of highlands, or maybe a Kopje emerging from the savannah, surrounded by high grass and with some little acacia trees.

Masked Warriors guard this holly land and hunt trespassers in the same way that dangerous predators. They have a mission. To protect the great Witch Doctor at his lonely hut. The most sacred man for the seven tribes.

Excellent work !
I like this kind of conversion : Gone from something totally different to the result.
Just like my Peons work on Perry's Medieval Korean
(right here :http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=10620.0 (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=10620.0)).
The plastic used by GW is excellent for the conversion work......i don't know if the Perry's and Warlord plastic are as good as that one of GW. Does anyone can have an idea.

Sorry. Bad camera and worst Photographer.
don't think so: you could be better about the lingths and focus, but the setting and the colours are really nice! :)
-
Great work, you should be proud of them.

Great conversion work here, from Korean to Mexican. And works very well.
Plastic from GW is really good, I had, somwhere, a great article about first days of GW plastic, when they had employe another company to do it, and they seems very good profesionals.
Warlord seems to me a bit more brittle, but I have just some shields and lances, then I can't comment correctness.
Thanks again for all your comments. I have my ego very high now.

splendid conversion
