Hi
A link to this french vendor was posted on the colonial board.
They have model bamboo:

Just thought I'd spread the word :)
-
Very nice. I can think of several uses for these.
-
I just ordered a bunch - I've been looking for bamboo for Pulp games set in SE-Asia for ages....
Ill base them in small clumps on washers or round ply bases for versatility. And my eldest daughter will almost faint if I paint a giant panda to place among them lol
And I just managed to clear the table in our office/study/hobby room for the first time since our move last fall - so now I also have space for some terrain-making. :D
-
please give us a photo of those, when it will arrive! :) i'm really curious!

Does anyone know what the balsa buildings look like?
In particular, how big are they?

This is turning into one h*ll of a SE-Asian terrain idea thread! :)
I see Indy on the horizon... darn, another idea/project to follow up on ::)
-
SOD this thread... >:(
made me spend money! :)
will post pictures when the balsa buildings arrive!
-
I'm going to have to get some at some point, too.
Just now, I've spent a lot on bases for Basic Impetus, plastic vegetation, a genestealer Patriarch (for ItEN), and an old hut, plus I have some bets on EvilBay, and I'm going to get a healthy horde of zeds next month, so unless my wife is to get that particular facial expression, again, I better restrain myself the next couple of months ::)
-
I can use this for pulp and vietnam games! Thanks!
-
Darn! I cannot get them to deliver it to my address :( Must not deliver to Florida.
-
The more expensive one that is not available looks a lot nicer to me and I would have preferred those.
On the back of this I did a search and found the Verlinden 1/35th bamboo stakes which I could definately use but am now struggling to find a UK supplier other than Historex.

Not bad! Some details are a bit clunkier than I thought but all in all they seem to be a rather good fit.
-
Dremel and sandpaper, and maybe a bit of putty will mend that :D
I need good pulpy name for a small trading station - I think I will start making plans for a more or less static layout to build up, once my garage attic is ready for use.... it shold be placed at the mouth of a small river, with the possibility of chinese river pirates, gunboats and junks visiting, smugglers' and opium traders' hideouts, Chinese, German, American, British, and Japanese presence (at the very least)... lol

Encourages me to assemble the Quadrangle house complex that I got in this range and get some more of the buildings to game LOOC (Legends of Old China) and LOTCS (legends of The China Sea).

I have my eyes on that one as well. I would use it as the House of the Dragon Lady - where gentlemen are entertained without knowing that it is the hub of an extensive network of spies, assassins, and smugglers... ;)

lol :o :-*

Got my bamboo yesterday - pics will be up this evening.
The cheapest version is the nicest one; the more expensive ones not really worth the extra money IMO (got the last 3 he had, so maybe he just scraped the bottom for me, but they need some fixing - and I may even cut op one of the cheaper ones to add extra twigs).
But the single 'trunks' are great - can't wait to get the time to do somthing with them!
Got 4 different aquarium plant 'mats', too, and with the abundance of palm trees I have: Jungles, her we come! :D
