Wandered out to my garage for a painting session a few times this week, but the muse has fled and I can't be bothered. Hope it passes soon.............. :-[

Try painting something different....but don't force it.
Your mojo will return...it's just having a wee holiday.
:D

I'm sure it will; my advice for what it's worth, don't push it. Do something else; read some books, watch some movies,. go hunting for eye-candy on the web. Even, if you can be bothered, do some boring painting that you've been putting off coz there's more interesting stuff. If nothing's interesting, may as well basecoat that unit that's at the back of the drawer... you know the one.
I reckon you'll get your mojo back soon enough.
EDIT: yeah, pretty much what he said.

Mine has been gone for more than a decade now. Hopefully they didn't find each other in the night and ran off together.

Is it behind the mouldy tent?

I'm with you there Joroas, happens to me from time to time. I walk away from the hobby, have nothing to do with it and do dull normal things like watch telly, DIY, visit the family, go shopping with the missus........... My mojo is usually back in no time.
Chin up old chap.

And absolutely this...^^
I can tell you that the same happends to most of us I belive, but as allready stated, do something else and it will come back to you, sooner or later. I usually go watch cool items on the internet, get envious and get back to building.

You spent too much time with the latest edition of WH? ::)
Been there, done that... two different ways to handle it: 1) find something completely different to do with your time for a while (waste of time!), 2) read some rules, get some games organized with the stuff you have, and you'll pretty soon feel and urge to add this or that to your collection....
-
Thanks for that, I need to pull out a character figure that I can love and concentate on.
As for the WH rulebook, I have one on the shelf but I failed the compulsory fitness test needed to pick it up and hold it .............. ;)
I understand that the next 40K book will require a forklift........... :D

The rules are not set in stone... it just feels that way... lol
-
Not surprising, then, that most WH players like heavy rock.

Anyone seen my Mojo?
It was here a moment ago but, unfortunately for me, it didn't stay long... :'(

Apparently it's having a beer with mine. They'll both come back all liquored up I'm sure.

Well, now I know why it has gone. :o
Warlord plastic Landwehr, the first unit of the Prussian army I have bought over the last year, has sat on my painting table for months, a dab, here and there and then a repaint and a highlight, but no real progress. :'(
So, is it that I have so much to do that a new army is a hill too far, or is it that there are other projects well developed that need finishing? So, I will put them away and get on with stuff where progress will be more tangible. :D
But, does this mean that I am becoming a sensible gamer who, like Matakishi and Yankee Pedlar, who only buy what they need and can keep on top of? Is this an age thing? :?
I'm not sure, but maybe another clearing of the decks is in the offing............... ;)
-
Hmmmm sounds like me then. i `m invited to a big w/game oh yes I said I`ll bring this an` that. it has motivated me to paint figures & units that have been lieing around for ages.
Now learned to paint a unit quickly and quite presentable
-
Mine died and is RIP, 8 figures painted last year nil so far this year :? :D
-
Mine comes and goes but the LPL or a new army or game can reinvigorate my painting. Hell, I actually finished painting my Saga forces. Purchases still outweigh the painting though. Darn Warlord Games. :)

I sometimes wander a bit away from the hobby as well. Someday, it just doesn't work for a while. I my case, what helps is making sure that I am painting miniatures that I plan to be using. As soon as I am painting something that I won't be using, I often get stuck and not only don't a make progress, I often start getting less and less interested in painting, until I remove the models that are causing this from the workbench and store them somewhere.
For getting Mojo back, taking stored models out of the cabinet and taking a look at them while watching a move. This somehow always get's me motivated. That , and the LPL... Next to this, I read posts on LAF and follow some blogs and that motivates me as well.
Seeing a friends painted undead army also helps me (thank you Pil!).

Your mojo is probably where mine is, so should you find yours before I do mine, give me a shout.
And no, of course you're not becoming sensible! :) When my mojo is on holiday, my purchase rate drops significantly as well. :) You'll be throwing money down the lead tube in no time!

Strange, I always thought this was the other way round with me.
less painting makes me want to buy more stuff o_o

Gah, ignore this post 'o mine. I was trying to reply to another topic and my computer skipped me over here instead when I logged in.
-
Mojo is flitting in and out, more out than in at the moment. :'(
-
I haven't had much inclination to paint myself. Painted two figures since November. I've built a whole slew of model rockets, though. Mucked around a little with an Ork I had on my desk over the last few days. It's not that I find painting unpleasant, I just don't feel like doing it every day right now.

If you need inspiration, check out this thread on Warseer:
http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?87490-This-week-I-have-mostly-been-painting
Even if I don't care for the subject matter most of the time, the progress he's making from week to week is amazing and very motivational!
