These figures are part of a series of Poles for 1918-1921 and the sculptor asks for corrections.

Cool, i like the sculpt! what is the scale?true 25-28mm?
-
I could definately be tempted by some of those. I dont know what for yet but I like them.
-
They are 28 mm and fits with Copplestone, so large 28 mm..
I will get Dmitry to make a photo with the figures together with some Copplestones.
Head are perhaps a little smaller than Copplestones.
Svenn, you will need the Poles to fight Ukrainians, Russians, Czechs, Germans - any country which borders to Polish territory in the period.
Also some personality figures plus some White infantry from an officers company, should be out soon by another sculptor, Andrew Karev, also Russian. The personalties will be Budionny mounted and unmounted, plus Stalin and some staff officers from 1st Horse Army.
Also the Ukrainians should materialize, if Shumin in Ukraine could get a little more speed on his sculpting.
It will be Ukrainian infantry with shlyks and two series of fighting civilians.
The figures will be sold by Sibirian Miniatures.

They look great to me with one minor quibble. That flag staff is far too thick. Hopefully it is just there for show and will not be cast on the figure though.
-
I've been waiting for miniatures like these for a long time! This could be something to make me start BoB, perfect minis to fight interwar Soviet's in Polish-Bolshevik war setting :)
-
The flag staff will be removed and the figure will have open hands.
Instead Dmitry will be asked to make some Polish finials to place on a wire staff.
-
Will you be doing heads with french helmets?
the polish inf man rifle butt behind the officer does not look OK and the rifle have little holes which will be a problem in casting, which will turn into a hole, pain, solve all problems on your figures before casting
you will need to go over the figures before casting with times 3 magnifying glass and fix any problems.
any problems will magnified on the master.
you have been warned, redoing master cost if it your fault
i have been down this road.

There will be heads with Adrian helmets, German helmets, side caps, maciejowka caps and different types of the rogatywkas.
The uniforms are meant to be an all-round type based on the 1919 uniform. By painting the collar in different ways and also the uniform plus different heads, many different units can be made.
Yes, there are here and there small faults in the finish, but Dmitry looks at all that.
That is also the reason he has put the figures on the net, so people can comment.
Trial casts will be made in resin, before prosuction casting.

Lovely figures! Great to see a variety of headgear too.
Unfortunately, with my current lack of cash I'll likely just have to settle for a detachment of lost Poles for my Whites lol
-
Very nice, I'd like some of those but weren't round crowned service caps more prevalent?
-
That depends on what year and in which part of the country (meaning what regiment).
Many Poles tried to turn their caps into rogatywkas, even the small round caps, the maciejowkas.
Both cap types also often had a political message, the maciejowka having been worn by the Legions of Pilsudski plus being a work mans cap. The rogatywka was chosen on purpose for the Polish army by the uniforms commission, who decided on the new, national uniform 1919, while the old Legion hands supported introducing the maciejowka.
In Galicia and the Eastern provinces the maciejowka was preferred, while in the Kingdom (mainly former German controlled are) the rogatyka was used.

Awesome news, this is getting me really really excited!
