Title: My random Flames of war thread, this time Desert AAR
Post by: Engel on 04 September 2011, 05:36:06 AM
Hello.

I recently painted some 15mm Panzer IV from The plastic soldier company. And they turned out great. They were a real joy to paint and Im already looking forward to future releases from them.

These boys have been camping in my lead pile for something like five or six years now. Feels good to finally give them some paint.

The reason that I all of a sudden decided to paint those infantry was so they could act as support for my newly arrived Grants.

Post by: Engel on 20 December 2012, 08:22:24 AM
These Panzer III G are painted to resemble the first panzers that arrived in North Africa during the near collapse of the Italian army because of the British counterattack.

The Germans had to scramble an stopping force to bolster the Italian positions.
The plan was to stop the British offensive and fight it to a standstill so they could concentrate on the more important and all deciding eastern front.
The newly appointed commander of this Africa force, Rommel had other plans and went on the offensive even before all of his tropes had even arrived.

These Panzers on the pictures are still wearing the panzer gray base coat and the markings for the 3rd Panzer Division that they originally were intended for.

For all of the pictures, more text and some reference pictures pleas follow this link.

Very nice looking game. I love the ME109. Those Grants are really good.

I've just started painting up some DAK infantry, mine are a lot lighter in color than yours.

With those nice 28mm ww2 miniatures from the Perries and all the reading about Chain of Command I have had recently I felt the urge to paint some DAK.

And I see I had a thread here on Laf so why not update it with the latest work.

These are a mixture of Battlefront and Skytrex minatures.

Love the limbered 88mm. I plan to do mine this way as well since it looks more like they ran into unexpected trouble.
