Post by: Melnibonean on September 07, 2011, 05:29:20 AM
My local club NWA (Nunawading Wargames Association) are having a special "Pirates in September"... Arg!
So, here are my scurvey dogs ready to take to the Spanish Main. The captain is still on the painting table but any one of these worthy scum can stand in during the meantime.

I love Ethel's name. Is she ready?  ;) But Filthy Fanny? Ahem. Really?

Brenda and Sally at least are Eureka, correct?

Great names and nice crew! But... have you ever considered an all-female crew? (just because SWASHBUCKING GIRLS ARE MORE FUN!)  8)

Well, that was the initial plan but I couldn't find any more nice pirate-girls (not that I looked that hard) so I had to throw in a few blokes to make up the numbers.

Fantastic job!  I just finished painting my version of Bristol Sally.   After seeing this I'm thinking she's going in for a repaint...

;)... That's why our club declared September to be Pirate month... Argghhh!

Well, my crew had their first game last night using the Legends of the High Seas rules. We played a simple encounter just to get our heads around the rule system but they won the day in the end.
I don't know how these rule compare to other rule sets but they seemed okay. There was a fair bit of jumping around the book to find rules and some of it wasn't very clear. "High Seas" looks to be one of those systems that is a bit fiddley to start with but easy to remember once you have the hang of it.

Or that it is my friend Shawn's bday. :-)
Or that it will be the night of the Charlie Sheen roast, :-)
