I bought T&T with the colonial supplement for my zulu war stuff and really enjoyed the games ,so now I am building a force for ww1 which will include Highland units .I want to include a piper in the command unit , and thought of using a mix of the trumpet rules and flag rules to represent the pipers value to the Highland units. From the trumpet rules I thought of using the +1 d3 to charge move rule and the increase quality by 1 rule and from the flags rules using the +1 morale rule ,all just for the Highland units. Any thoughts on this ?any advice welcome.

Hi Itchy,
sorry...I didnt see the post. I didnt want to be rude. Next time pm me and give me a clap on the head.
I am no expert on Dudelsäcke ( pipes )
But I can imagine they would work as signals or as an orientation.
Maybe pipes are threatening the enemy. I am not sure if that would make pipes too tough maybe give the enemy - 1 in close combat for the first round or the Highlanders a + 1 in the first round or an extra charge die ?
Something like that would be nice maybe...?
Cheers
Björn

Thanks Bjorn , i hopefully will play test all these ideas in the next couple of weeks. i spoke to the curator of the seaforth Highlanders museum on a recent visit and he spoke about how the pipes were a fantastic morale boost on the battlefield and how many pipers had won bravery awards during the 20th century .Thanks for your help and on these brilliant rules.
