Basically I'm trying to make a small platoon of future period French Marines and I've been looking around for suitable miniatures. While I've already started work on a couple of character figures using GW parts (Cadian range) I want something a little more ragged for most of the soldiery and I was wondering about the Pig Iron range. The Militia are nice models, but simply look too German for what I need, so what about the Ferals and Rebels?

The Ferals might be a bit too raggedy and, well, "Mutated" for French marines. ;D
The Rebels however should be just the ticket!! They're lovely sculpts, essentially the same kit as the Kolony militia but with bare heads and gasmasks instead of helmets. The gas masks are rather soviet looking for the most part but there are a couple of alternate heads on the sprue. Also their equipment and uniforms are very worn and ragged looking with gouges and impact marks on the armour and torn edges on the great coats (also more carrier pouches and bits of tarp/blankets/old uniforms/etc.. stuffed about themselves as though they are trying to keep warm.
Hope this helps. ;)

If they have separate heads you could use the militia and swap out for Woodbine WW1 heads perhaps?
