Title: Colonial Steamer
Post by: Marine0846 on September 23, 2011, 03:21:20 AM
A few pics of a steamer used in a small battle, played awhile ago.
The steamer was purchased from Patrick Wilson of TVAG.
Built by Richard Huston.

A four player game, British, French, Belgians, Slavers, plus Natives.
The players were told that the boat was grounded, they were to save the passengers.
The Belgians won, they saved the passengers. The British went and hid in the jungle. The Slavers took pot shots at the British and not much else.
The French had a unit of sailors attacked in the rear. They were killed or captured. The French Major with a unit of Marines attacked
50 Natives, saved the captured sailors and covered themselves in glory. At least that is the way I remember it.  ;)

The steam boat is magnificent!  What material is the used for the river?  I like the glossy effect.  Thanks for posting.

Rocks dead ahead - full astern!   :o

looks like the material sold by Lemax for their Xmas stuff is being used for the water with some sort of cloth under it, unless I'm wrong.  :'(

Liliburlero,
FifteensAway is correct. The river is from Lemax Christmas stuff.
You can usually pick it up for about 40% off.
I purchased mine at Michael's Craft store.

Great looking steamer. It is nice and big, with lots of room for minis all over it.

I also like the river. Great effect, especially in the photos.

6milPhil,
Sorry no more pictures of the steamer.
But will try to take some closeups of it later in the week.
