Title: Skulldred Beta 3.0 released
Post by: Delaney on September 23, 2011, 01:07:27 PM
Beta 3.0 is out today!

Its not to late to register for the free closed beta- just flick an email to dave@bederken.com with the words SKULLDRED BETA in the title and I will add you in- you will need to do this even if you have been playtesting for while- I don't like to hassle anyone, so I only send out to registered members.  :)

I just got a poster of the cover printed and the book jacket- and its sitting next to my desk now.  ooooh... really exciting stuff.  I feel like I am finally reaching the top of the hill on this long, long side project.

I doubt I'll be playtesting much but I sent you a mail anyway. The cover looks great but that of course is your specialty!  :-*

Loved the previous version - these are some great rules you've written. Email sent for the new beta hotness.

SoBH is still a very inspirational set of rules, but I like Skulldred even better!

Email sent from here as well. I was looking for a set of fantasy skirmish rules and Skulldred looks good. Can anybody direct me to some reviews or AARs or something? I could use the search function, but I'm feeling lazy, so...

Yours truly,

Sir Dryden

Here are some pictures from my Skulldred playtest board, featuring the printed downloadable skirmish counters (useful for most skirmish games) which I mounted on card this afternoon during a break.

Michael Moorcocks Elric is too cool to look at citadel giants.  He walks away from explosions in much the same way.

Rulers, magic charges, magic portals, strength counters... oooh, the pretty, pretty counters!

Hasslefree Svala and Kalee pound a converted Chaos warrior, Elric confronts a Sorcerer next to a fallen Fantasy Specials dead adventurer.

Typical Skulldred mayhem... Groms goblin Guard can be seen in the backdrop sporting a Litko skull marker.  Must get the other figs painted!

That's actually Grom his pauchy self... Just yeah, nitpicking you know. =) It's a great fig and a perfect testament to the awesomeness of pre slotta minis!

Nicely painted minis. Excellent looking rule book. Lots of dice. Loads of colourful counters. What more could we ask for?

I am looking forward to the release of Skulldred..

Just wanted to say that I've been reading through the Skulldred beta 3.01 document and it's looking solid. I haven't got minis on the table with it yet, but maybe this weekend. It's a very nicely designed thingie too, even without all the final art.

Shame the magic system isn't in this version yet - I think the portal-summoning magic system is one of the best things about Skulldred. Really great to have a physical representation of magic happening on the tabletop, with sorcerers having to move into contact in order to close enemy portals, and models running away from enemy portals just in case they unleash a blast spell next turn: it adds a huge strategic level to the game.

Anyway, looking forward to getting some minis on the field and giving it a go.
