Title: What exactly is BLAM?
Post by: Dr Mathias on 29 September 2011, 06:07:04 PM
Hello,
I've done a little searching on the forum and haven't come up with the answers... what is BLAM? Something to do with LAF/LAM I suspect, but I haven't found anything about who/what/where/when.

Is it related to SLAM?

Since I'm stuck in the midwestern USA I may have to have a KLAM  :)

BLAM is a gathering of a few LAFers here in England, we get together annually for a weekends gaming.

Perhaps our Canuck members (myself among them) should start CLAM!  lol

You should. There's been one SLAM, Swedish Lead Adventures Meet so far but there are more to come. Just what malamute says, a few LAFers getting together and let each other play with our toys. I think it needs to be said they've been by invitation so far, since space is often of an issue. There's been a GLAM to (Germany).

Thanks for the replies, sounds like fun. I know there's some LAFers in my region, maybe we can organize something.

CLAM sounds good. If it ever sees the light of day, I could be up for it, depending on scheduling and whatnot.

Yours truly,

Sir Dryden

So, there is hope ;)
But we could stay with SLAM and call it Scandinavian instead of Swedish

As to names, just do that the Scots did, as SLAM and GLAM are taken they've broadened it up a bit to come up with something appropriate, even if it does sound like something on the menu at McDonalds. :D

We'd love to include you, I am sure. We already have a few Swedophone Danes and Finns on the SLAM board. JJust to make sure, you are Norwegian, right?

Your like Galland then. Claims to be Swedish but is really a old Frieslander feldtwebel or something like that. ;)

Well it works on so many different levels, not only is it the Scottish prefix meaning son of, it also links with Scotlands infamous poor diet and high rate of heart disease!

"I'm lovin' it"

Cheers
