Title: LOTHS ship step by step!
Post by: cneme71 on 03 October 2011, 11:23:42 PM
Hello,

I built a ship from the templates in the Legends of the High Seas book. I scaled the plans up 33%, and ended up with a pretty nice little schooner.

Templates cut out. Ready to go!

Foamcore cut out.

It's starting to look like a ship. Help provided by some of my crew.

Another crew attempts to steal the ship, but they are fought of with the giant X-Acto knife...

Nicely built and good tutorial.

What did you use for the planking?

Thank you Furt!

I used balsa wood sheet for the planking. I scribed it with a sharp pencil at 1/8 inch intervals.
