Very cool! :o Is the car a respray?
-
Very nice indeed!
I love the way that you set up your shots.
The scenery and backdrop really make the pictures come to life.
Brilliant!
:-*
-
That's great looking. I look forward to more.
-
Who makes the car and what scale is it?
-
Cheers chaps :)
Yes Andy, the car is an respray, painted with my trusty Paasche.
Johnno the car came with a Ferrari magazine (which I bought for the car) , I guess it's 1/43 scale ???
-
Very cool.
I hope Mr. Ferrari would be pleased. ;)
-
Unusual that the car is getting all the attention but it is rather wonderful.
Doug
-
lol lol Cheers Doug :)
-
Ah! How lovely to see we have someone who's resurrected the old club idea.
What do we have so far?
The Duke of Nutherland Kennel Club of Monimasket, The Duchess of Hulgoland's Suffragette Club of Panneberg, the Dangerous Car Club...What am I forgetting?
Looking forward to the next instalment, Bw.
-
Cheers Hammers :D Next instalment this weekend ;)

Superb work!
Love it, but.....................
........................................Part IV- where is it? ;)
-
Really neat photo.
This thread got me to buy a few cars from E-bay, to try my hand at painting them.
May I ask if the trees are home made?
Like them alot.
-
That's a really moody shot..... Nice!
-
Thanks chaps :) Part IV by Monday,I have great plans ;)
And cheers SI,I always enjoy your your pics,we share a similar outlook, methinks ;)
-
brilliant Photos- can we see more of the girl on the motobike and side car?
-
Hopefully Part IV up by Monday ;) If I can manage it,two armoured cars, maybe a Ford V8 and a 'plane!
Chaps all I can say is.....buy The Crusher,it's a great piece of kit ;)
And Marine, get some cars, these days I find myself collecting interesting cars as well as minis (in my youth I had a hotted up Bugeye Austin Healey Sprite,it had a MGB motor plus mods..sort of reliving my past just cheaper and less dangerous, make do with a Subaru Impreza these days),great fun :D
-
Missed these- lovely stuff! Always nice to see what my girls get up to. Love the rest of the Club too!
-
Cheers Andrew,I really get a kick out of your minis, they are brilliant :-*
-
Blackwolf,
One of the cars I ordered came in today, a 1931 Stutz Bearcat.
A great little car.
Inspired by "The Adventures of the 19XX"
I plan to paint figures to play some small games.
But first have to finish stuff for a Halloween game on the 29th.
-
Marine, the Stutz is a little cracker, look forward to see what you do with it ;) I remember a good detective series made in the 80s where the dick drove a Stutz*,actors name escapes me at the moment? The series was sort of Chandleresque, which is a good thing :)
* Powers Boothe,Philip Marlowe,Private Detective. Can't get much more Chandleresque than that ;)
Edited for bad memory.
-
Talking of cars, I've just started a game in which the hero drives a Maybach-Zeppelin for no other reason than that I loved the name. Anyone know of a model of one in any scale remotely compatible with 28mm...?
Sorry for slight thread hi-jack.
Doug
-
No your fine Doug,it's a cool car too; Not sure if anyone makes one? And if they do, I'm sure it would be expensive :-[

Love the work on all three so much it is impossible to pick a favourite.
I love this series that you are doing and eagerly await the next installment...
-
Absolutely stunning! Great model, outstanding paintjob and most excellent photography. Who could ask for more? You seem to have access to an unlimited supply of Bentley minis. Where do they come from? (I have some ideas to use one together with a Lotus Elan ;))
-
Great scene! 8)

Some of the best posts ever in this thread. As a collector of Aston diecasts as well as a wargamer it really appeals. Photo composition is spot on too.

Blackwolf,
Your best photo yet.
Love the plane, car and the lady figure.
Could she be an secret agent on a mission?
What could that mission be?
-
Thanks chaps :)
Svennn,it's my way of supporting a hobby (cars) cheaply :D Tell me have you got a model of the Aston Martin Zagato Le Mans ? One of my faves ;)
More soon, just a slight divergence into my other current projects; fantasy and a VBCW.
Cheers

-
Oooooh!
Lovely!
:-* :-*
Your atmospheric photos never cease to amaze me.
Well done, Mr Wolf!
-
Cheers mate :D
For those of you interested; the car was airbrushed with a basecoat and two highlights. It was then dirtied and finally pigment were applied (pastels actually, one can pay a fortune for these;I use high quality German pastels for about 2/3s the price of the 'special' modellers pigments),and finally some discreet washes, seatbelts were nicked from a 1/48 scale aeroplane kit. I think the lenses look a bit cartoony, what do you think?
-
fantastic painting,very atmospheric Setup,Top notch :-*
-
:-*
Loving the thread.
Great cars, minis and gorgeous photos!
-
Lovely stuff yet again.
Between you and me, is the girl a Photoshop drop-in...?
Doug

Here is an example before I edit the base out;
-
Glass effect looks great, as does the whole thing :-*
How do you edit out the base?
-
Cheers mate :) Picasa,a simple program which came with my laptop,it's a bit basic, however I prefer to use old fashioned methods anyway ;)
-

What, like piling flock round it ? ::) I prefer the hi-tech solutiom lol
I've got photoshop elements, that's supposed to good but it hasn't got an edit out the base button ;)
I'll Just have to get some scenery and have a go at this :)

lol lol, does sound rather silly now that you put it like that ;)
Look forward to seeing what you come up with, the entity that I use for getting rid of bases is called retouch ;)
Cheers
Guy
-
wow some top stuff :o
-
Heaven forbid! No,however her base has been edited out.
That explains it - it was just something about the feet that made me wonder. I've messed about with photoshop myself from time to time and I still haven't quite got it to be convincing on every occasion so I'm interested in other peoples' successful efforts such as yours.

Do you use 1/43 scale cars or another scale ?
-
Do you use 1/43 scale cars or another scale ?
Good question, I would guess so (1/43) too?
Although scales on die-casts are about as accurate as economic forecasts, I think they are too big to be 1/48, and the seat sizes somewhat reminds me of some 1/43 cars I have.
-
Cheers again chaps :)
And Argonor is correct, 1/43, however as he mentions this can be all over the place.....
-
Your pictures are amazing. Could you post a tutorial on how you take such fantastic photos please ? Do you use a picture for the background or do you add it afterwards ? Any filters for this dark (but really cool) atmosphere ? Thanks.
Keep posting : you're an artist ;)
-
Thanks YIU. I use a picture for a background which I have photographed and printed and the lighting is natural :) I did a quick tutorial on the work bench, see if I can find it....?
Here we go,it's laughably simple though; http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=35227.msg413191#msg413191
Hope that helps? Remember when taking your photo AV high (more of the pic in focus) and ISO low (less noise or grainyness (sic) )
Cheers
Wolfie
-
Thanks a lot Wolfie.
-
:o :o :o
I missed this thread!
Brilliant work Wolf! Wonderful selection of minis&veichles! Very nice paintjob and perfect photo set.
Keep going mate !
-
I whole heartedly agree awesome thread. I just wish I was as lucky to find the cars. Been looking for years and have not been to successful. Mayhaps I've been looking in the wrong places. I guess it goes to show that we Canadians don't have much in choice to support our habits... I mean hobby. Keep up the great work my friend.
