Finally someone made them in proper gaming scale: http://www.knightmodels.com/product.php?id_product=50
And they are multipose . :-*
Need to buy two or three packs of them. 8)
-
It'll be interesting to see what else they do 8)
cheers
James

Been out for a while, troopers are new though. Not bad, but i too much 25mm starwars to make the change.
-
Any mention of pricing?
25,34 € sin IVA (if google translator not makes mistake this means "including VAT)
And a second new model is Bobba Fett: http://www.knightmodels.com/product.php?id_product=70
I`d like to see some generic siths and jedis from them. This can really help me to start anew my star wars project.

sin = without .
I guess you forgot to put "not" in front of "including" or else google translator messed up real good...

Some lovely figures on there.
But very expensive :o :o :o
-
They are very expensive, and I don't have the skills to pull them off. There was a fellow on here posting pics of them that he did as a commission, and he did them up really nice. If I could paint as well as him, I would consider buying these despite the price, as they make awesome display items.
-
I've bought several of the Marvel Knights in the bigger scale (not cheap either!)
But, I've been meaning to get into the Star Wars line, maybe now with those awesome new ones, it's time to start.
-
Very nearly got some but that I have to register (with no other apparent option) really puts me off :-[
cheers

I can't remember the last time I bought miniatures online and didn't have to register...
-
That was what I was waiting for :D
Will order today
-
I might pick up that Boba Fett.

Jim I think if you order them from CMON,one doesn't need to register.
-
Cheers Blackwolf, just had a shufty over there but they aren't available yet.
I've just spent that money on trees so they will have wait anyway lol
cheers

the minis are really wonderful, thin and realistic-scale, i really love them.
the price is quite high, but in line with the other knight model prices!
What is the meaning of multipose? there are 10 stormtrooper, are they from the same 5 casting?
-
very nice, but too expensive :'(
-
I agree with those who say the miniatures are expensive. On the other hand I'm pretty happy with the three I've picked up. These are not gaming minis I'm afraid. The light sabres are just too fragile for one thing. On the other hand they are wonderful representations of the characters from the movies. Considering how much time I put into painting each character, I'm willing to spend a little extra to have a nice mini. It's taken me years to realize that this hobby doesn't have to be about getting the best deal. I think that thinking changed when I gave up on 40K.

agreed, but to be fair, aside from a few character figures, what people want is stormies and rebels in 15 and 28mm that are nice, not pre-painted collectibles and at a decent price to make large armies with. Or is it just me wanting this? (and vehicles etc - I cannot believe a license like this has not been used properly regards miniatures for years since WEG)
-
Have you forgotten about all the wowc plastics? Been well used I think ;)
Anyway I'll go back to my piles and piles of WEG minis... :P
-
Don't get me wrong. I'd be happy as a very happy thing if someone would put out decent quality 30mm Star Wars minis for a good price. In fact I look forward to that day. In the mean time I'm satisfied just to have a source for metal prequel era characters. I'd have been even happier if someone had made Clone Wars era figures in WEG 25mm size. Then I wouldn't have to paint so many darn personalities a second time. I mean, how many different sizes of Darth Vader does a man need?

I don't care if they are pre-paints, so long as they are cheap.
I have 100+ WotC Stormtroopers.

I was drawn to the dark side and ordered a pack...

Size comparrison.
left to right Knight models stormtrooper, infinity, wizkids stormtrooper, heresy, hasslefree.
They are tall and skinny, nice though, lots of options, cleanly cast, but too expensive. (but they made me do it)
Can't imagine why they chose to cast the body and legs in resin, the ankles are probably the most fragile part. IMO they would have been better off using metal for the whole lot, but oh well.
-
Not keen at all, too spindly, I'll happily stay with my WEG boys.
-
Very nice but insanely overpriced, which is a shame.
Also, i agree its odd to do is part metal/part resin...perhaps that why the price is so overblown since they're obviously running two production systems.
Wierd.
-
This is really strange. I've picked up and painted four 30mm Knight Models Star Wars miniatures, and none of them were part resin. I've grown accustomed to the prices, but resin parts might be a deal breaker. Is this a strong type of resin, or are we talking about the stuff GW is now in love with? I'd rather not see my models melt in 70 degree weather.
-
I am guessing the same type of resin they use in their larger pieces which no-one has complained about yet. The price is most likely a part of the license to use the Star wars IP which I guess is not cheap.
-
They look quite nice. I was tempted, but then I saw the size comparison, and they a look quite tall. Thanks for sharing that size comparison with us hubbabubba. Now I can sleep well without needing to buy more minis.

If you add a West End Games model to that line up, we can all shout, "Aren't you a little short for an Imperial Stormtrooper".

And then bang your head as you find out you're actually too tall to get through the door!

Yes indeed a classic blooper. Thanks for sharing this footage with us, it has been a while since I have seen it, and it makes my laugh every time lol.

Believe it or not I'd never seen that before, although I had heard of it. Fantastic.
Re: the type of resin, well I've no idea what the GW stuff is like as I've steered well clear of it, but I guess this stuff is similar to what McVey uses. It seems to have a little give in it, so not as brittle as some.
-
They dit it again. :)
