Title: 1/50 scale cars
Post by: TadPortly on 26 November 2007, 02:10:32 PM: Some very nice vehicles that would fit in very well with WWI, BoB, Pulp etc. Being 1/50 they should fit better than 1/43 with 28mm figures:

Wish someone would do some normal American 1920s cars for Gangsters. All you see are either the luxury or sport models.

Dominc, I think Blue Moon manufacturing have released some model cars to go along with their gangsters. I have not seen them so cannot comment on the quality.

Seems to be an old GDR manufacturer. The Austin-Putilov looks really great.

Post by: Vanvlak on 26 November 2007, 07:17:42 PM: A search for 'Espewe' (the co. which made the models) on ebay.de turned up 3 pages of cars and trucks, but none of the Russians, I'm afraid.

PS - Austria gives 2 pages, many in common with DE, but again no (Russian) joy - although there are a few more modern tanks and APCs in both sites.

IMHO the perfect mount for a British Pulp hero and his trustworthy sidekick/damsel. And while looking at the bottom of it, I discovered that it's made in England. How apt.

Post by: white knight on 08 December 2007, 07:09:43 PM: Right, got them (the ebay ones), compared them to my 1/48 tamiya citroen traction 11cv and they are about the same size, which means they are indeed 1/50 scale, as advertised. I got 7 completely different models, which should make a nice addition to the table.

The conversion should be quite easy (with a motor-tool...) but I am not sure which one to take: Either Lledo or Matchbox?
