Title: The Star League
Post by: Inso on 20 October 2011, 12:47:00 PM
Seeing as I have been sculpting Super-Soldiers lately, I thought I'd sculpt a few alien super-heroes so that I can make them a little more exotic.  As a result, The Star League was born and here is Morg, the first member:

There is more info and pix of the next member, over at Inso's World :)

Nice work Inso!  He reminds me of Kilowag from Green Lantern.  While I'm not a big fan of Dwarves, I do really like the Grymn.  These guys are a great compliment for them.  Your sculpting is getting pretty good.

He looks far more vicious than I expected him to be when I saw the green. I suppose I didn't notice the teeth; the yellow eyes add to the menacing look. There's a bit of a shark about him, isn't there?

Regarding the question whether they are good or bad guys, they can still go in either direction. Or more probably, be an altogether different thing.
Let's see how this develops with the new recruits...

Still very WIP but...the third member?

...or should I just make it sci-fi?

If it's the third member, you'll have to sculpt boots and uniform to match the other teammates  :D

Anyway, great job as usual !  (yes, even if I'm new here, I already saw ALL your miniature topics  lol)

Thanks...I hope you liked what you saw :) .

As for boots...I reckon I'll get away with anklets instead.  I think the Lizard will have to have bare feet.  As for arms, I was thinking big robotic gauntlets with a constrictor style tendril in each.

Constrictor:

The next leaguer came about as a result of searching through my cupboard.  He is a converted metal miniature and I have called him Torphig:

His buckle generates weapons made of solid energy that can be handled safely but fire a range of powered blasts (from stun to 'murder most horrid').

I am still having problems with the lizard's hip joints so he has pretty much stalled at the moment...

...in the meantime I have another one on the go that is a completely metal, unconverted miniature and he will appear soon :) .

Another great addition Inso!  I like your idea for his powers too.

It has only just kicked in, but these remind me of a team of super aliens in the Golden Heroes rules from way back. Which is a good thing BTW. :)

Golden Heroes...there's a blast from the past :).

I had a bunch of characters for that...

Midget:  A bow wielding Halfling who could wall crawl.
Cyclone:  A weather controlling, armoured character.
Atlas:  Super strong with mass variation.

That would be, what, 25 years ago?  Time flies...

Here's Fixit for the Star League:
