"That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die."
Strange Aeons at Ducosim
Ducosim is a quarterly games con in the Netherlands. You can find all kinds of games and several game shops. There are tournaments but also bring-and-play games and games where you can step in and play along.
Next Ducosim, November 19, I will host another Strange Aeons gaming day. I will bring along all scenery, books, dice, parchments, trusty pencils and miniatures and all you need to bring along is yourself (although it's cool to bring along your own miniatures!). You can play as many games as you want and I garantee a great day with lots of excitement, great players and fun all around.
Want to join?
Drop by at Ducosim! Here's the address:
De Flint
Coninckstraat 60
3811 WK Amersfoort
The Netherlands
(you can park your car at De Flint. Parking costs are 8 euros for the day)
Entry fee for Ducosim is 7 euros.
Time:
10.30 - 17.00
By now we have several players joining in! Including roon and necrocannibal

Take lots of pictures! :D
-
Fantastic poster! I wish my personal jet wasn't down for repairs ( ;))...or I would be there!
-
Yep, I'll be there and it'll be the first time I'll be playing SA, so I really can't wait. Hopefully I'll have some models painted by then.
-
Yes! Looking forward to my third Strange Aeons participation at Ducosim. :) I'm also trying to bring some of my own models, Threshold agents that is. They will make their gaming debut there if they're painted in time. :D
EDIT 18-11-2011: My agents are finished! Two of them that is. They will participate tomorrow, and hopefully kick some Lurker behind! lol
I will post some proper pictures of them in a separate topic when I have the time to make them. Probably tomorrow, as I don't have time for that today...
-
My 4 Cultists and my Mad Scientist are ready to do some slaughtering. I'm really looking forward to playing my first SA games tomorrow.
I'll also post some proper pictures of my models when I have the time to do so.
-
Good luck all,
looking forward to seeing the phots ....

Yesterday has been fun and I really enjoyed playing SA, it's a fun and fast paced game. Thanks to Malebolgia and Roon.
As promised, some photo's of a few of the games we played yesterday:

Indeed it was once again a great day of fun! Hilarious situations, epic fights and good laughs. One thing I like about these kind of meetings is that when people meet, and never have seen eachother before, it's an instant great atmosphere along with chats and laughs as if we all know eachother our entire lives. :) So thanks again for a great day of gaming to Malebolgia and Necrocannibal. 8)
I love your pictures necrocannibal! Great atmoshere there! Do you have any more? :D
Nice to see my 2 freshly painted agents as well. (agent on the left on the first picture staring at the stone obelisk, and the sinister looking one with walking cane on the 6th picture)
Another thing I was thinking about on the way back home was; did we have the first Dutch SA-players meeting...? All 3 Dutch players on this forum were there, exchancing ideas about how we want to expand our model-range and future games. Next time I will join again, that's for sure. :)
A nice present was waiting for me after coming home: SA expansion #2 with fishmen #1 and a formless thing! Woohooo! I better start painting for Brushoff 2011...

Looks like everyone had a great time.
Cool photos.
Nothing like a great wargame day to get one excited about painting.

Nice that you like the pictures, I have to give credits to Malebolgia for the idea (I've seen pictures like these posted by him a while ago), I have a few more.
Don't know if there are any more SA players here in the Netherlands, but I hope there will be a few more as this is a fun game and I definitely want to play it more often.

Let's see...Monster Attack (Werewolf slaughtered the whole Threshold team), Fight (twice), Retrieve the Artifacts, Escape...Into Danger and Treasure Hunt...if I remember correctly.

:-* :-* :-*
Great stuff!
Lovely figures, terrain and photos.
Very atmosheric.
Every time I see posts like this, it makes me want to play some Cthulhu-type tabletop.
Our group already plays COC RPG (at the moment, in a Victorian London setting) but on the Tabletop in the future is a definite!
Strange Aeons looks like it comes highly recomended.
Is there a UK or European stockist?
Look forward to more posts like this!

Thanks...Battlefield Berlin (http://shop.battlefield-berlin.de/ (http://shop.battlefield-berlin.de/)) sells Uncle Mike's stuff and a lot more.

Thanks, necrocannibal!

Battlefield Berlin is very much recommended. They ship very fast and almost instantly reply to emails.
Good place to order your stuff! :)

It was a great day! We played 6-7 games during the day and all four players played in them. We had some truly epic moments, some real shockers (a simple cultist killing a Civilian and Agent!) and great photos. I'm still working on my 75 (!) photos and will post a full report on three games, all in Strange Aeons style of course 8).
-
Can't wait to see your pictures and read your report...I don't do reports because I simply forget most details.

Woohoo! Great read and eyecandy as always! :-* Do you intent to do all games like this? Can't wait for more. :)
-
I also have photos for games 2 (Escape into Danger) and 4 (Treasure Hunt; I was away shopping when the Werewolf gobbled up the Threshold team). I'll do them in similar style :)
-
Just read game 1.
Great read and great pictures, too!
Looking forward to the next one......(hint,hint!)

Enjoyed reading the report and loved the pictures...can't wait to read the other two.

Great report! And I love your scenery and photos! Very evocative. :-*

Great photos and reports. I really like the antiqued photo style and that pyramid looking thing.

I think Malebolgia got that one from Fenris Games (http://www.fenrisgames.com/ (http://www.fenrisgames.com/)), it has a Cthulhu type relief on the front...looks really nice.
