Title: WIP: Camo...
Post by: dwartist on 29 October 2011, 08:55:16 PM
...but not sci-fi for a change! Trying to paint contemporary US camo for a potential 'client'. Not sure how successful I'll be or whether this is the right LAF section sorry.

I honestly couldn't say how accurate it is.

However i think it looks fantastic to be honest I would pay for that  :D

It is looking good so far.  One thing that I would suggest is making the digital pattern less square-edged.  That is going to sound strange but on something that small the squareness at the edges would be 'fuzzy'.  In real life (life sized), you can see the squareness up close but as soon as the troops move off, you just see areas of colour and the edges blur into each other, giving a blobby effect.

On a major PLUS note, you have the mix of colours in just the right sort of spread and the colours you are using are bob-on.

If the whole solder is going to look like the helmet, then you've got the right idea. Looks just like the stuff I've got in my closet.
