Title: 15mm DLD Near Future Armor Group (OOP)
Post by: JRacel on 13 November 2011, 10:17:13 PM
I posted these a few weeks back on TMP and thought I posted them here as well and just realized I had forgotten to do that, so here they are a little late.

A good long time ago I got some long out of production DLD vehicles from CPT Jake (Thanks a LOT Jake!). These have to be some of my very favorite near future vehicles, especially the various forms of the Komodo APCs. I got the MBTs and standard APCs from Jake and searched for some more vehicles and finally got the Command vehicle and a special weapon vehicle (AT). These have long languished on my painting table, so when I had a little time this weekend I finally got them finished. Slowly getting my forces together for some Tomorrow's War Games.

Please note that the fine barrels on the APCs are replacements for the very plain plastic rods that the vehicles came with. I used the far superior turned brass barrels from Scotty of Combat Wombat to pimp my APCs and the secondary gun on the special weapon vehicle. I think they look 100% better than the originals. http://combatwombatminiatures.com/new_page_1.htm

The troops are Earth Force Droptroopers from Rebel Minis.

Hope you guys like them.

Those are very nice. Shame DLD isn't still producing. I'd like a Komodo in 28mm for one of my strike teams.

Gorgeous work mate. I love the digital cam too.
I really wish these were still available. I tried contacting him a few years back when I needed a few platoons worth of Komodos in 28mm for my OUDF. So sad :(

cool cammo !
And i too find it a shame DLD quit.
I used too drool over their site, but at that time, low budget and the postage cost always stopped me from ordering  :(

Your digital camo pattern is fantastic... I like that you have it just in patches... perhaps not "realistic", but it really looks good on the models. Then again, how much of our near sci-fi is really very plausible anyways.

It is great to see these painted and used.   I'm glad they went to a good home.

Really nice vehicles, shame the moulds couldn't be sold on as these are a great example of near-future, hard sci edged armour that would suit battles from 5 years into the future to 50.

Nice PJ's too.

Thanks for the nice words guys.  I is a shame that DLD went under and the owner would never sell the molds.  These are still some of my very favorite 15mm vehicles.

If you want to see if he has any vehicles left you could always try reaching David on Facebook.  I'm friends with him there.  David Dunn.
