Started on my Enclave troopers. They are the excellent models by Brother Vinni, very detailed and really capture the sinister look of the Enclave.
One minor quibble, they are harder to get into interesting poses than his BOS model.

And so onto the latest arrival, here is the Super Mutant. Nice figure, very big (maybe too big compared to in-game?). But one major pain was trying to drill out his hands to take the hammer.

And next to the BOS and Enclave to give you an idea of size

One day I'll be getting me one of those plasticville diners (despite the high P&P from the States)
The billboard is nice, although I get the impression your poster is a bit on the small side.
As for the unfortunates. spot on. Love 'em. Opens prespectives on that box of GW plastic skeletons I got lying aroud somewhere.  ;)

Yeah I trawl Ebay looking for the guys with low P&P, there's very few of them, some of the sellers on there charge extortionate rates.

The poster is a tiny bit smaller because I'm clueless with changing image sizes and ratios!

The skeletons I used are from Ebob, they are flexible-ish armatures so you can get them into good death poses.

What kind of washes do you use?  Have you tried the Army Painter Dip?  I worked it out per unit, and it was actually cheaper than buying a like amount of GW washes.  I've been pretty happy with the product.

I paint most of my figures these days with the GW washes, just layering over a white base and blackwash. Devlan mud is applied to anything needing aging or weathering.

I use the Army Painter dip on anything which I cannot use GW washes on

Played a three player game today for the first time and it was a blast. My opponents were two of my brothers, one a regular opponent, the other playing my Fallout rules for the first time.

We played on a 36" x 36" set-up with the forces being
•Caesar's Legion:
•Decanus with pistol & machete
•Legionary with throwing spears
•Legionary with assault rifle
•Legionary with ripper & hunting rifle
•Legionary with machete & hunting rifle
•Legionary with hunting rifle & bladed gauntlet

•New California Republic
•Officer with assault rifle
•Trooper with assault rifle
•Trooper with assault rifle
•1st Recon sniper with scoped hunting rifle
•Ranger with scoped hunting rifle
•Heavy Trooper with lmg

•Super Mutants - My faction
•Brute with minigun
•Mutant with Super Sledge
•Nightkin with Super Sledge
•Centaur

So we set up with each side choosing one table edge to set up. First fire went to the NCR as the 1st Recon sniper badly wounded the Centaur which waddled off looking for cover. A legionary opened up on a Super Mutant wounding it. First kill went to the NCR as the LMG of the Heavy Trooper ripped through the spear armed legionary.
In the second turn the Legion got revenge as the ripper armed legionary carved open the salvaged power armour of the heavy trooper. The NCR was badly deployed and found itself fighting hand to hand and losing to the Legion. Meanwhile the Nightkin under cover of its stealthboy ambushed the 1st Recon sniper killing him with a powerful blow from its super sledge. The NCR were reeling from this attack on two flanks.
Next turn saw the centaur shot dead by the Legion, but the Brute shredded a Legionary with a burst of accurate minigun fire. The NCR managed to stabilise their line, shooting dead the ripper-armed legionary, while the Ranger survived a missed swing from the Nightkin, only to snap his knife on the mutant's tough hide.
Then the other Super mutant fought a legionary in the centre of the table but lost! Followed by the NCR finally killing the nightkin, it appeared that the Super mutants were out of it and the NCR might just prevail.
However the Legion renewed its attacks and the NCR's luck ran out as its surviving troops died, leaving a Decanus and legionary to fight the Brute. The Brute managed to kill the Decanus with more minigun fire but the other legionary drew his machete and charged the mutant which needed to roll a 3 or less save to survive, it came up 3!
Turning its depleted minigun (down to ROF 2) one last time on the legionary it scored the necessary hit to win, just!

All in all, a very bloody but very exciting game which swung in favour of each side and hinged on one dice roll! We even had one car explode with the force of a mini-nuke when the Ranger was killed.

 8) Nice table.

Always dangerous to get a good start in a 3-player game. You just know they other 2 are going to focus on you...

Thanks Zizi  :)

It's just 30cm vinyl floor tiles, very easy to store so the wife doesn't get upset!
I'm planning on adding a sewer sub-section so we can use the manholes and try to bypass models.

I think the NCR suffered from being in a bad position, when the Legion sent its forces to flank them, they failed to redeploy. There wasn't too much they could do about the Nightkin until it struck!

Finished a few Mercs. Painted these guys up in the Talon Co/Rivet City colours. These are a mix of Copplestone and EM4 models, so basically all Mark Copplestone. One merc has a laser rifle and another a missile launcher, a great equaliser when facing Power Armour!

Cheers guys  :)

It's Vallejo Flourescent Yellow 72103 over a white basecoat and blackwash. It's very thin so you need to shake it up and slap it on but it does give a nice "glowing" effect

Update time

Got a few models from Armourcast. I've yet to do the Bloatflies but these guys are nearly finished.

First of all

What are moo looking at?

Armourcast never included the pack it was supposed to come with, so waiting on them to correct that, I'll be using this gal as the objective in Caravan raid scenarios.

Got the baggage-pack from Armorcast so I could finish off the Pack Brahmin

Just need a couple of models for a Caravan Merchant and Mercenary guard. Any suggestions?

Lovely Brahmin man. Other stuff from armorcast looks good too. I think that 040 and 043 from this range would be great Caravaneers. I use the Straw Hat one as my Rogue Trader in my Inquisimunda warband.

PS. You got a pic of a 28mm mini stood next to the Centaur for scale? Been wondering for a while.

I've already got those EM4 models and they're part of my Wastelanders faction. I'll take a pic of the Centaur next to a few models

Finally got around to doing a few more models. Found a good figure to represent a Chinese captain with classic Chinese pistol and sword.
The second figure is my travelling merchant to go with the Pack Brahmin in caravan escort scenarios
(http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m295/emperorpenguin77/DSC05178.jpg)

Figure on the left is just another gun for hire merc or wastelander
The model on the right is a Legion Centurion with T45d shoulder armour and carrying the fearsome Shishkebab

As you can see I was inspired to paint his jacket based on Ulysses from Lonesome Road

Thanks Zizi

He's a "Revenant" from Black Hat's Cobalt range. http://www.blackhat.co.uk/online_shop/product_info.php?cPath=121_182_189&products_id=1815&osCsid=9c1371e52c9debf4dc3653d7a13064f2 (http://www.blackhat.co.uk/online_shop/product_info.php?cPath=121_182_189&products_id=1815&osCsid=9c1371e52c9debf4dc3653d7a13064f2)

I swapped the head for an astronaut head from Crooked Dice, closest thing I could find to motorcycle helmet. The shoulder pauldron is a spare T45d piece from a Brother Vinni model, the leg greaves and helmet plume are from Warlord Roman plastics.

I tried sculpting flames with green stuff but discovered the blue part of mine had solidified in storage  :'(
Being as impatient as I am, rather than waiting until after new year to buy more, I tried sculpting out of liquid green stuff on a test figure = utter failure.
My second attempt using Woodland Scenics' Water Effects went swimmingly (see what I did there?)  ;)

I find PA basing quite simple. slap on some pumice ( or the much cheaper tile cement equivalent) and some small stones then paint dark brown, drybrush earth then sand colour and add some static grass (the dried variant) or silflor tufts (prairie grass)
most time lost is for drying the pumice, so basicly you can finish a lot of figs rather fast.

 :-* :-* :-*.

That is one fine model.
I'm guessing it's a wee bit too big. Would probably be more suitable at say 80%.
If this is the large model then the small would definitly be too small  :?

Post by: emperorpenguin on March 12, 2013, 05:07:51 PM
Small model?
I'd say about 80% would be perfect but I'm still going to use this as it's not going to appear in-game that often!

10" vs. 14" would make it 72%. Maybe they'll create 'em in custom scale (then again, could result in a custom price...)

Nevertheless, moved down the list as Zombicide 2 promises to be another full frontal attack on my wallet and with Salute coming up...  ::)
