Has anyone attempted building a set of these before or know where I can get hold of some?

Cheers.

hum, you may make a custom etched-brass piece for it. Otherwhise it is quite hard to sculpt something like that =)

Depends on the scale, but in 28mm why not just take a piece of mesh and brass rods and glue/solder them together? If there's a frame, a few styre strips should do it? Simple job, I should think?

How big does it need to be? ::)

Thanks chaps.
Svennn, I'm still working on that. I've ordered some of Ainsty's underground bits, once they arrive I can measure the dimensions of the corridor. The layout will be the same as the set for Quatermass and the Pit and the lift will be at the end of this tunnel:

You may want to ask Andy if he can get some etched for you.
He has had some grave yard gates (http://ainstycastings.co.uk/product_info.php/products_id/652) done and may be able to help.
(While you are speaking to him - tell him to give up the big stuff and get into 15mm - he just does not listen to me)

Ahh "Hob`s Lane" or should that be "Hobb`s Lane" Underground station!
Funnily enough I only watched the DVD of Quatermass and the Pit last weekend, stonking good film. An oldie but a goodie.
Will whatch this thread with interest

Yes, I made a set from plastic cross stich canvas. Not the square ones but the diamond pattern.

For the lattice at the back there is a etched brass product here in the US that would mimic pretty well. Then all you would need to do is glue on the uprights. I will see if I can find a manufacture for you. I seem to remember that it was in a model train shop.
Snitchy sends.

You folks keep going on about Quatermass and The Pit (in various threads). Do you mean the BBC serial or the movie? Being a miserable colonial, I have seen neither.

The tube station is from the film version (distributed in the former colonies as Five Million Years to Earth). In the TV serial, the capsule is found on a building site, but the film was made at the time that London Underground was building the Victoria Line extension, so tunnelling seemed more up-to-date.
