Hello all,
The Gaslight group at my local gaming club (Nunawading Wargames Association) decided to send the gaming year out with a bang with a grand old VSF mash up.
The scenario: The fall of the small town of Chartoon (Not as famous as its larger correctly spelt neighbour ;) )
Here is some eye candy

Great report!
I love those mechanical marvels... especially the bees! :o :-*
Your landship remains one of my favorites. ;D

Looks like great fun was had by all. Those dastardly French are stirring the pot, rather, ain't they, wot? Wot?
-
Great report with some lovely eye candy!
:-*
Thanks for yet more inspiration!

Great looking game and nice report. Who makes the bees?

I think they are these beauties from Fiendish Fabrications;

They do a 3-pack as well, for a small saving.

I love that ironclad gunboat. Paper? Did you design it yourself? Do you have the plans?
Thanks
-
Of course Shaftsbury survived! Silly question. ;) Fantastic game. Highly enjoyable.
-
Yes Chairface. I'm sure in great VSF tradition major characters always miraculously survive despite horrendous wounds or mishaps ;)
GB - I scratchbuilt the Dauntless out of foam board and card stock. I did use styrene planking for the deck. Sorry the plans are in my head :)
I find that card stock if painted well is very passable as iron plate just add plenty of rivets!!
Cheers

Good idea. I am working on a gunboat now, and I may incorporate that. Thanks! :)

it was a great game and the first proper outing for my French Colonials. I also just recieved another Legion Extraterrestriale unit with a couple of HMGs.
Forgotten in all the action were the Legions': Bombe de Porc - Clockwork Pigs loaded up with TNT. After several breakdowns they finally got moving steadily towards the main gates but the Mhadist guns brought the gate down just as the first little piggy got into range. :-[
Fuzzy... You just wait until next time... Johny Frog has a new weapon for the new year.
-
I not worried ;)
The shipyards at southhampton are also a hive of activity :D
Cheers

I made them for Fiendish Fabrications but I never released them because I thought they were crappy. Just kept a few for myself until I found a better alternative.
Funny though... I had a lot of questions regarding them.

Haven't seen a clear enough picture to judge if 'crappy', but the scantily clad young ladies are shocking!
That said, I'd still like a closer look... lol

Who makes the Mechanical Marvels?????

Who makes the Mechanical Marvels?????
They are quite a mash up, aren't they? Are the 'heads' painted, or glass beads?
I did get a better look at the naval lasses of L'Belle France. Do look a bit stretched or something to me; not really a critique, mind you. However, they look almost as if you could chop out the midriff, and shorter though proportioned ladies would obtain. Now, if any other part bothers, Mr. MoO, I still don't see it. ;->=

The mechanical marvels are concieved in the bowels of Fiendish Fabrications :D
Quite excellent IMHO, even if they are the enemy! >:(
Suitable for all manner of genres but particularly VSF and Pulp

The "Heads" on the mechanical marvels are painted and heavily coated with gloss varnish.
I think I might have to do a remake of the naval (navel) lasses. The concept is there I just did some exeptionally crappy sculpting. I'm thinking - Long skirts, pompom berets or staw boaters and keeping the crop tops but adding some lace and frills.
Hmmm... Got me thinking.
-
hmmmm pom poms ;)

Wonderful stuff!
Consider that city name nicked! :D

I would like to see a female crew produced as well.
