For two years I began this conversions on Wargames Factorys zulus but I couldn´t finish them because I went to Germany for a couple of years. Now I have rediscovered them.
I´m by now a bit better in modelling but I´d like to show you these anyway :):
-Ruga Ruga:

I hope you enjoy them.
(I have big plans regarding the new Warlord´s zulus and Perry´s mahdist ;);))
-
Wowee :o those are sooooo good.
The Ruga with his foot on the rock is inspired. Keep up the good work, I cant wait to see what you come up with next. Dont you dare leave it 2 years though ;)
-
I've got to get some plastic sets for my DA project. :-* Perry and Warlord welcome to my world!
-
Thank you people!
I hope I manage to have the time to finish these :)
I´m really very excited how the conversiones might look like with better minis as base like Perrys and Warlords ;) (and not WF lol)
-
Excellent, love the sepia tone they've got :-*
-
Excellent conversions! :-* I bought some of these a while back, and it's useful to see the potential.
-
Thank you both :)
I think the WF plastics get a lot better with a little work, since they are a cheap and useful base for conversions. (but they are not so nice if untouched lol)
-
even better than Foundry's ruga

even better than Foundry's ruga
Thank you! I like the Foundry ones aswell but they are way to expensive :(
I have adquired a couple of boxes of Warlord´s zulus and I´m making more Ngoni of them :)

Maybe it´s not so correct to make all of them with the bombastic headdress but that´s the charm of the ngoni IMO ;)
-
Awesome Clearco :o :o :o
-
Thanks Jorge! :)
-
and you wonder why Foundry is reducing their Darkest Africa line...
-
What sort of modeling putty are you using? They're very nice conversions!
-
WOW! Very nice work…these conversions are fantastic! :-*
-
Great work.
-
Really like what you're doing here, Clearco. The Ngoni look great, but my favourites are those turbans on the Ruga Ruga. I need more practice with putty, I find it dreadfully difficult.
-
Thank you all! :)

I´m using this one, way cheaper than the GW one: http://www.feroca.com/product.php?id_product=45

Thanks! I´m making new Ruga Ruga with Warlord as a base, I´ll show you when they´re finished :D
I think the tip with putty is to wait a little for it to dry before you work with it. It is easier then ;)
-
That is impressive work! Really like it! Amazing how you've increased the appeal of the WF sculpts.
-
I finally managed to paint some Ngoni :)
A ton of fotos:

I hope you like them

:-*
Those are smashing!
Super conversions, great paint jobs! ;D
-
The shield texture looks fantastic. Really nice work all around!
-
:-*
Lovely paint jobs on some fab conversions.

Agreed.
-
Those are great.. They do look like they belong in the early 1970's with that hair though.
-
Excellent work. I love the way you've painted the shields too!
-
Thanks for the kind comments! :)
-
Great conversions, and nice paintwork! :-* It shows what can be done with plastics.

Today I made my Ngoni Chief :):

The feathers are from several Warlord´s Zulu heads, since I didn´t want to sculpt anything hard today lol
-
He looks great. But I also have to mention the grass you have him running through, not sure what you have used but it looks really effective
-
Looks great, but I want to see some colors on the first chaps i this thread. :D
-
Thanks! :)
@Cram: That´s a fur mat. I cut it a little with scissors so it looks irregular. I borrowed the idea from here:
http://www.elladan.de/002%20fur%20mat%20WiP/002.htm
@Engel: I think it could last a bit until I paint them: Now I´m so enthusiastic about Warlord´s Zulus that I want to repeat them all but with the new zulus as a base lol
-
Well done mate! This look great!
-
Thanks! :)
-
I painted the explorer of my Ngoni force. This is a slight conversion to make him looking more thin and wiry than the original "conan-style" Warlord´s zulus. I wanted him also to be so striped down as possible since I imagine him traveling light and fast ;)
I also painted my first lion 8)
I changed the flesh recipe so I hope it´s more realistic than previous ones.
-
That's terrific work :-* Shield and Lion, superb 8)
-
Very fine.
Love the lion, well done.
-
Thanks! I enjoyed a lot painting the lion :) It´s the first animal that I paint (horses and beastmen not included lol)
-
Like 'em, like 'em lots! :)
-
fantastic :D
love everything about your work.
-
Thanks! :)
I´m working on new ruga-ruga out of the warlord zulus, I hope I can have them painted soon ;)
