Title: Single player senario with a new "HOOK"

I am working up a single player PI style senario with a new hook:

All the major clues will be business cards the PC will find, that will lead him to someone that holds one of the pieces of the puzzle.I am trying to keep it to 18 cards, but it might balloon.

The main idea is that the PC starts out to solve a murder, which ends up envolving everyone that one of the cards lead to.

There are lots of red herrings too.

Since the murder involves a diamond called "the duchess", also refered to as "the lady", this will throw off the PC due to there being both a duchess and a lady among the business cards...among other misleading tie ins.

I even plan on starting out the senario with the PC passing a gypsy on the streets that tells him "Your future is in the cards", of course he will think she means the tarot cards, but she actually means the business cards.

What do you think of this Hook?

Anyone done anythink like this?

Sounds similar to .45 Adventures clues/traps etc, which I like. I'd be very interested in how you progress with this.

Got all the business card handouts done today, and the list of characters.

The senario is going to involve the theft of a huge diamond, that all the main characters will run across or get involved in  somehow, and be murdered in turn for, if the PC doesnt figure out whodunnit and catch the culprit first.

The PC will be scored on how many of the main characters survive.
The senario will take place over two weeks or so of game time, with the murders to happen at certain times, unless altered by PC involvment.

Of course there will be at least 1 clue at each murder, plus the business cards, and all the characters will be connected through a web of tie ins somehow.
