I had been wanting these for a long time, but when I got them, they managed to sit on my lead pile for a while. Finally got them painted.

Not keen on them as I prefer the original grenadier sculpts that Doug at EM-4 miniatures still sells very very cheaply. You might want to hit them with a thinned badabb black wash and the uber skullz tm base is just a little too much... ;)

I actually think the base keeps in with the film. lol
I wouldn't go just washing it badab either. If anything at all give it a sepia or something. And brush it again after wards. :)

WHich film and which timestream! ;) (I know what you mean re: future T2 but looks too GW for my liking).
Again you say sepia, I say badab, I say delvan, you say smoke... let's call the whole thing off! ;)

Sure, but I almost always welcome differences of opinion though. :)

I quite like the miniatures and they are nicely painted but could do with a small amount of depth by adding a wash of some description (I would suggest Devlan Mud because that is what I use on my metals...but black/sepia may be just as good depending on the finish you want).
The Em4 ones are good as well but they seem to be more skeletal and less roboty than these so it is all horses for courses.
The skull base is in keeping with one or two scenes from the Terminator franchise so I can't see a problem with it...and it seems a good way of highlighting commanders/leaders without going too much to town on them.

Thanks for the comments everybody. Believe it or not, there are TWO badab black washes in there!!! One after the second coat (which is typically my 'heavy' highlight), and one on the very top (albeit a light wash)! I dont have a great camera, and I tend to overcompensate for it by nailing my figs with a ton of light, and I think this has hurt me here.
It was my intention to make these look like they had just come off of the assembly line. I wanted them bright and silvery, but I can certainly see how they could stand to have a little more depth.

No problems mate, taking piccies is a real pain in the arse, I can't get it right, been trying for years. I get the assembly line look, and can well believe you've inked them up, (light issues). If I might make a suggestion.... If you try starting with a boltgun and using very light drybrushing, bring it up to chrome, you'll probably get the desired effect with a light wash afterwards. Also try matte sealing the metallic before washing, that way you could even use a chrome enamel spray and still shade it without issue.
The skull base just doesn't work for me, I think it's a little unfinished, maybe start it again but darker grey black then bring them up to a lighter grey/biege and thin washe, give them more of a dusty, fall out covered look.
I disagree with my learned friend re: the EM-4 terminators, end of the day these are endo skeletons, so the skulls should look skully. I won't post any of my painted ones up but have a look in future wars, you'll find em. Oh and at about £1.50 each it wouldn't hurt to buy a few and give em a go? ;)

I like the shiny look, matches the look from the films, you never see a rusty or dirty T-600, 800, 850, whatever.

Covered in blood does not count as dirty or rusty...and Salvation doesnt count anyway as its a big lump of donkey poo >:(

Salvation is cannon, and not even that bad if you aren't expecting much. That said, I like my Terminators shiny.
Oh, and if you want yet another choice for Terminators there are the Chronoscope Cyber-Reavers. Not as cheep as some of the other options, but they are nice and skeleton-like.

I'm not exactly sure by what definition Salvation is cannon but as far as I'm concerned the only definition of "cannon" in the Terminator franchise is if James Cameron wrote and directed and Gale Ann Hurd produced it's cannon and if not it's not.
Also, Salvation was a big lump of donkey poo :) ;D
I would strip it for scenario ideas though - especially around the A-10 air support.
The fig looks good - love the skulls, although I hope you saved some for the bases of the your swing set and merry-go-round. :)
