That project is totally astonishing! Seems like the sister project to the great Bordeux pirate game. Incredibly good looking ships and terrain. Just looking at those photos made my day. :)

Being a sister project to the Bordeux game would be an Honor. They were my original inspiration.
I will post more photos as the new ships are completed. I have 4 from Ainsty castings new pirate line I'm working on that I absolutely think are cool. Thank you.

Excellent  ;)

I took part in the big Bordeaux game in October 2010 (I was not the organiser, I was the governor of the French town and also acting umpire for all land skirmishes on the southern coast). The organiser is planning another one in a few months.

Wingnut if you wish to exchange some infos and tips (about game conception, ideas, and little problems that could happen in the game, etc) by PM I'll do it with pleasure.

Cool video, some gorgeous games - must be one heck of a show piece convention.  And did I see some sort of a piratical engagement here or there?   o_o lol

Aggro,
Better to Rob a Bank in Missouri Like the James Gang than to rob one in Kansas like the Daltons. Them Jayhawkers are mean folk to near-do-wells.
 :(

15's ,
There are a lot of great games there other than mine. The war College from Ft. Leavenworth will be hosting a Quadruple-Blind version of Krieg-Speil, Ambush Alley is running Flulugia, The WW1 Museum is setting up a Mobile Exhibit of artifacts from the Great War.
I've been moved to the basement level of the convention where the rowdy band of seamen won't disturb the all weekend Napoleonic campaign or break anything upstairs that has historical value ::)

Nice video!

I imagine that should help with recruiting new pirates, not that you'll probably need to.  I'm guessing the problem will be dealing with all the people that want to play, that there isn't room for.

Avast!!!  It appears you've been holding out on us in the vessel department.  I believe my sharp eye detected a new, red-sided, two-masted brig at about 48 seconds into the video, which appears to be based upon a hull similar to the ochre painted, single-masted sloop shown a bit later.

Would love to see pics of it too, when you have the time.

Well done!

Wish I could be there, but alas, the tides are runnin' ag'in me.....

Mako,
That's the Brig Newton sir, I posted her last July. I am working on four ships right now, two should be posted soon.
We will be running this game again in the fall then there is talk in our group that the Golden age of piracy may be ending.(for a time)
I have a Giant Wild West game to finish and at least 3 more Mega games to follow. All will be like nothing currently in the gaming community.

Stay tuned....

Hey, Wingnut, whaddya mean mooning in on my range, pard?  After MY pirate monster game, it's finish off the French and Indian War and on to MY giant wild west game!  What's up here?  We related somehow?!   lol

15's,
We'll cross paths but I don't think we'll be competing much. I not a F&IW gamer and my Wild West stuff, or as we put it "The West gone Wild" has been in holding pattern for a few years now. This project started 5 years prior to the Pirate game and I'm just bringing it to a close before I move on to some more ridiculous projects which for the most part will be non-historical.

As far as relations, I guess anything could be possible. my family tree is more like Crab-grass, prolific and hard to eradicate.

Thanks for the reply, Wingnut.

Not sure how I missed your Brig posting previously, but it is a wonderful looking craft as well.

You've certainly made the otherwise mundane vessels look considerably more attractive than I would have though possible.

Mako,
Thanks  but you could do the same kind of work or better. It mostly just takes a few extra parts from a craft store and a little more time.

Galland!
I call that flag the "Libel Roger", the guy that filmed the video Steve Hobbs designed it.
We are looking at having it printed up. Good to hear from you, not seen a post from you in a while.

Scott,
That Man'o war got a taste of it's own medicine from the French Frigate, a bit later. At least you did't get eaten by the Kraken :?

Ahoy Landlubbers!
Recruits went very smooth this year and the feed back from the game has been very positive. We added a new center table of mostly open ocean and a new  pirate's Island hide out. Two new releases made their debut at the game Matt Green of Laser Dream Works provided an unreleased ship to a lucky Captain and Robert Watson Provided us with a New sculpt of the Kraken. I would like to thank Old Glory for the bounty of Prizes they sent to the winners and the free mini's to everyone who played.

Excellent...
As a Frenchman I am happy with what the French frigate did...
...but I especially love the story of these two captains of a British merchant ship and what happened to them :-) Such stories are the best we can get in our games, such adventure is better than killing everyone else, I hope it will be an example to all our players in our next Big Pirate Games (in Bordeaux, France, in October 2012).

(Er... I don't know if this comment will appear on your blog, it keeps asking me ID justifications that don't work)

but didn't the British Man-of-War kill The Kraken before getting sent to the bottom by the French?

it didn't claim the kill. That was Darby Ekles in the Dutch East Indiamen that will have the title Kraken slayer.
