Title: Bit O'Junk for Trash Bash 2012
Post by: Roebeast45 on January 12, 2012, 04:58:47 AM
I've combined suggestions from The LAF and The Miniatures Page plus my own personal bias to choose six different options that might be used for Trash Bash 2012. Please help me choose what the final bit of trash will be!

Thanks to everyone for all of the suggestions. Some of them I decided not to use, such as printer cartridges or anything made of metal, due to health and safety issues or due to difficulty in working. Some other suggestions, such as squirt guns and flash lights, would make for great conversion bits but lack the "make cool stuff out of junk" ethos of Trash Bash.

I will decide what the subject of TB 2012 will be once the item is determined.

And if you have no idea what Trash Bash is all about check this out:

Thanks for supporting Trash Bash!

Excellent.  I am currently 100% of the vote.  Noodle Pot FTW!

I've lended my vote to the Candy container. Because why not mix pleasure with pleasure? :D

I am going with Blister package...because who does not have tons of those hanging around and its already a part of the hobby.  Lets see you use it for more than a paint pot or water bowl.

I know before I ask this, that it's probably a stupid question, what's a mushroom cup? Is that not what Mario wins if he comes first at Karting?

Would it not have better for the contest if the materials used wasn't so restrictive. For example I don't have any spare mice kicking around and all my blister packs HAVE been used for painting. What about having to use ANY one of the items listed above to make something?

Mushroom containers or produce containers are what I mean. Although a Mario trophy would be a cool bit to trash bash too. :D

Chris FitzPatrick has used these on some really excellent buildings and they often have very cool architectural details.

Must be a US thing.
here mushroom containers are flimsy plastic boxes. Don't think one could create something out of those.

I like candy container best because I think it has the most wide variety of shapes and sizes for people to work with.

I just received word that 40K creator Rick Priestley will again be helping to judge Trash Bash. It was Rick's famous grav-tank build that started the whole thing for me and I'm honored to have him on onboard.

Will you be picking a theme too,or just the junk item?

There will be a theme as well. Nothing too rigid but I think it makes for a better contest to have some parameters that everyone is operating within.

I'll be posting the rules on January 23rd with the contest ending on February 29. It's a leap year so we've got a whole extra day!
