First...
I've always ribbed the lads at the club for having a bad case of 'Bavaria-philia.' For every period someone has Bavarian troops. It's a presence out of all proportion to that geographic area's participation in world events. But...
I recently stumbled across some old Dixon 1680's figures that I purchased.... Can be be 'decades' ago? And I started work on them.
It seemed that the most eclectic army to build was that from the 1683 siege of Vienna. So I purchased some WF Poles online, and started painting. The old DBR army list has the nationalities, in descending number of troops as; Austrian, Poles, BAVARIAN, and Saxon. So, naturally, I started with the Bavarians.
Second, this leads to the question.
"What color should the cheap scabbard be for the cheap sword carried by a Bavarian musketeer? Black leather? Brown leather ? Dull white metal ?
Many thanks,

The Hoffman prints show the scabbard as dark brown with brass hilt and chapes.

It should probably any sort of leather brown and I would also mix the colours throughout the regiment as no two leathers would look the same after being on campaign.

Many Thanks,
Didn't even consider 'dark brown.'
