Hi all,
I began a Spanish Civil War project (we currently play with Triumph & Tragedy rules) with other guys of my association (Loups du Téméraire, Nancy). I have finally choosed the anarcho-syndicalist side and here are the first (not really good) pics of my "Columna de Hierro" milicians (all Empress miniatures)

Nice work, they look the part.
Restarted all on my SCW stuff, even after owning Anglian I never had enough figures etc painted for a good game. Currently painting FAI militia and Foreign Legion, so I can work my way through the "Attacar es Vencer" scenario book for "Disposable Heroes".
-
Welcome aboard and well done on the figures! :)
-
Welcome, a nice clean painting style you have there.
-
Lovely figures and bases. Wish I could paint as well!
-
Very nice work indeed, I really must get some Militia for my games!
-
The painting is just lovely! Clean, crisp. I'd like to see more, please!

-
Very nice all around.
Cool miniatures, nice paint jobs, and the bases look great. :-*
Are some of those guys in the last photo armed with slings?
-
Yes, slings were often used to extend the range for the dynamiteros... always a good idea I think. :)
-
An exemple of SCW soldier with a sling ; in fact the box (on this picture) which he's throwing is not an explosive but is full of propaganda.

And you can see videos of dinamiteros with slings in "Mourir à Madrid" (by Frédéric Rossif) at about 23' :

Great looking figures.
I have be tempted for a long time to do SCW.
So far I have been able to talk myself out of purchasing some.
-
Wow. Slings.
Thanks Arlequin. What an interesting item of historical information. I like the minis even more now!
-
The SCW is full of interesting stuff, there's not often there isn't a 'wow factor' each time I read something new about it. :)
-
I really like your work! Very nice paintjobs... Inspiring!
-
They look great, good job, and exelent figures!
-

That's a real shame! Those lovely models need to see some action! :-*

You need some Guardias de Asalto (http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guardia_de_Asalto), as well armed as any opposition and formed from ex-soldiers. They even have some (poorly) armoured cars. >:D

A small update : a 70/16 Schneider infantry gun with CNT-UGT crew.

Very nice gun and crew, and so is the rest of your militia! :o
-
Nice one, gun and crew are fab!!
Is the gun model from Force of Arms? I know the crew are Empress figs, but did not recognise the gun.
-
Yes you're right Comrade ;) the gun is from Force of Arms. And I have just changed one head from the Empress Crew (the guy with the shell.
And thanks everybody !

More SCW loveliness! :-*
Thanks for posting.
-
Another cracking bunch of figures, and good old Force of Arms this time.
Its nice to see them with a decent paintjob, they were the figures that got me interested in 28mm SCW
-
Great looking collection. My favorite is still the MG, especially how you based it.
-
With the publication of A World Aflame, I have decided to paint a few more minis for my columna !
