Hi, some while ago I saw the movie "River Queen" and was intrigued by the New Zealand Wars and the kind of warfare. After some online research I decided to build a Maori Pa as it seemed a challenging build for me as a terrain builder. The Pa is not intended to be a 100% historical so it's a mix of both an early Maori Pa and a later gunfighter Maori Pa. When the Pa is finished I will post a detailled tutorial on my blog, here's already a picture of the Pa in construction with a Foundry miniature to indicate the scale (as I don't posses any maori miniatures!).
The Pa consist out of a outer palissade and a larger inner palissade complete with decorated support beams. The inner palissade also houses a round trench from which the occupants can fire from well protected positions. You may also notice the two tunnels connecting the space between the two palisades with the trenches.

Comments are more then welcome! ;)

I like the look.
Can't wait to see it finished.
Gaming the Maori Wars one must have a Pa to fight over.
What figures do you have, or planning to paint to go with it?

Thanks for the comment, I will probaly use some of the excellent Empress Miniatures Maori and British.
I've also managed to plaster the piece, now it only needs to dry for some days before I can texture and paint the Pa.
