Awesome work, looks very realistic with the dusting, especially on the tires. The light blue on the tiny window slits works well too.
What's the deal with the massive exhaust pipe thingy on the back, though? It looks kinda out of place and blocks the doors, what do you think? ???
-
Stunning :-* . By far your best yet - your technique works beautifully on all of the little greebly details.
-
Fantastic stuff. :-*
great jorrrrrrrrrrrb

I wish I could paint vehicles that well. Smashing!
-
That is a thing of beauty. Well done.
-
Nice paint job on that tank.
I really like the weathering.
-
;D
Very nice. Looks like a photograph of a real vehicle. ... Very, very nice.

Amazing and you seem to churn them out so very quickly. I wish I could even half as well and half as fast.

I'm not sure wither to congratulate you on your model painting skills or your ability to make REAL vehicles look like models!! :o ;)
Brilliant!!

It is big - but plenty of opportunity for weathering!! It does clear the rear doors

I've just noticed that whole model has been RP'd 8) 8)

Ah, now it makes sense. In the other photo it looked like the doors couldn't open due to the perspective ;)
I still think it looks out of place, it's a rather rustic (or should I say - rusty?) design on a futuristic vehicle o_o
-
that looks fantastic!
is it a kit bash or a production model? and what scale it is?
I cant place it or tell what size it is as the painting and photography dont give any sence of size, which is the sign of great painting to me.

Looks perfect! I just ordered one!
-
Yep... saving my pennies for a couple right now.
Like I said - I'd seriously consider Legos if Dwartist painted some up.
-
Outstanding.
Really love your painting. :-*

Rapid prototyped :)

Thanks James. The casting does show clear evidence of its origins but is largely covered by paint - where it isn't it has the appearance of a textured surface or ribbing but some of the 'round' parts aren't quite round. Although not perfect for their first vehicle I think SW have done a really good job. It won't be to everybody's taste and some will be put of by the less than smooth casting but, for me, the level of detail is as good if not better than many other comparable 28mm gaming vehicles and is close to that produced by major companies like Forgeworld. I'll be joining the queue for a couple more.
-
Oh yes, I like it, the details are much better than a lot of other comparable items on the market (your painting has really done it proper justice :-* ).
I can say from a rather lot of experience that these sort of things can be an absolute bugger to clean up so the odd area here or there isn't really noticeable, in fact, it probably adds to the effect somewhat :)
cheers

Any chance of giving us mear mortals a wee tutorial on how to achieve a paint job as good as this?

Sorry buddy, I don't know if it's my computer(or me!), but I can't seem to find a link to your blog. I know most people put it as a signature at the bottom of their posts, but yours doesn't show!!

It'll be the globe emblem (for "World-wide web", I suppose) in the profile on the left. You'll notice that quite a lot of people use that.

Thank guys!!

I'll be starting another couple of vehicles soon - another 6x6 and a 'newie' - I'll document each stage as usual but I'd be happy to go into more detail at any stage if you let me know.

Love the paint job. :-*
