A rather interesting old clip from the seventies. Alan Whicker does Paraguay under Stroessner. Might be inspirational for Hammers or anyone looking to do a 1970s Latin American setting. Alas Stroessner wasn't the last dictator or even the worst but hey, the film is a product of its time.
I do find it slightly disturbing seeing Alan Whicker in this setting, given that the man looks like a cross between Hugo Banzer and Augusto Pinochet himself. Particularly since old Alan seems rather approving of Stroessner's regime.

Enjoy.

Oh and about half way in there's a bit of footage of the Chaco War worth seeing.

To be fair, if I was sat interviewing a dictator in his home, with a name like 'Stroessner', in the middle of his country, thousands of miles from home, I might make approving comments too. Otherwise the next interview might be with Pastor Coronel. :D
Thanks for sharing that, I'll be watching it tomorrow I think! :)
