Title: Container in Resin WIP
Post by: Sangennaru on February 25, 2012, 07:42:56 PM
Hi! I've done a post in the workbench about the corrugated iron, but now it turned as a container. It should be good for modern, future wars and post-apoc, but since it is meant for a post-apoc game (Wreck Age) i will post here.

here's the thread, page 2 for the container.

the doors will be openable, and there will be interior details as well. For the moment that's just a WIP, i'll finish it in the next days.
that's just a first cast, and actually it also has some bubbles. i just choose the worst pieces to see the overall look.

Will be produced by Wreck Age, with their promising miniatures line. =) probably in April

cheers,

Jack

I am constantly amazed at the talent of people on this site (and more than a little envious!). Very nice.

thanks guys! =)
Probably i've to make a new top, because this one is a bit to "wavy" for the production, but soon (a couple of months i guess) it will become available!

i've made some other, two of them assembled:

piled together

hope you like the overall look,

There are a ton of resin containers on the market, but few with opening doors and interiors.  Nice.

really? the reason i started sculpting it is because i couldn't find any. I mean, resin one, not die cast toys.

I don't know about "a ton" but armorcast make a resin container, though as Deathwing said it's solid not hollow like yours.  I'll definately be interested in yours if you can get rid of the wavey panels.

Iron Halo do a resin Shipping container which is hollow with doors that can open.

Splendid work, btw. I really like the dented surfaces. The opening doors are a nice plus, but with the Rackham containers, we almost never used the interior. Every time we did, something was forgotten inside  ;)

Here is my own version, though solid as well.
Pardulon resin container (http://pardulon-models.com/product_info.php/info/p149.html?language=en)

Also, there'll be another one quite soon :D

well, the point is that they're casting it with a spinning machine, so there will be two sides anyway. i'll not make very elaborated insides, but something is good, since the casting will be bivalve! =)

very nice aside from the flaw with the roof you point out, but easily remedied - I shall keep an eye out for these when they go on sale.  :)

actually, i really like the weak roof as it is, i think i'll keep it for my personal use. But for the company is better something more accurate! =)

Woah, that is the only thing I can say... woah! This project is really turning out to be truely great. I will most certianly get a bunch of these, the possibilities are endless. I am most impressed (as I wrote in the Workbench area, but these... wow!).

This will be the first in the line of many terrain pieces that we plan to commission for Wreck Age.

It's turning out great. Sangennaru is going to be doing multiple roof options, so that everyone will be happy with the style of it, and can use it to suit their purposes.

We've got some more stuff in the works too...

Keep your fingers crossed for an April release... we'll see.

Keep a lid on the prices and remember that you've a bigger market in the UK/Europe and you should be on to a winner.

We would like some out here in North America and if they are as good as Pardulon casts then I will certainly be praising them to everyone.

I'm not sure about the bigger market area but reasonable price is always a motivator.
