Title: Chronoscope *not-Gears of War* troopers.
Post by: Dentatus on 01 March 2012, 04:25:35 AM
All this talk of marines got me thinking.

I love the simple, brute menace of these sculpts. I hope they make a couple more. I'm thinking my Secret Weapon RAV should work quite nicely with 'em too.

If you need more of gears of wars troopers, there is  boardgame where you can find a four more of marines and a whole lot of GOW monsters.
They are compatible with 28mm miniatures in size, and quality of minis not bad.

You can see pictures of the minis here: http://boardgamegeek.com/image/1249381/gears-of-war-the-board-game

Very nice job on those - i must get around to painting mine. I didn't know about the fourth and fifth members of the 'squad' so thanks for posting!

They are nice minis, your painted versions look grand by the way, but anyone considering buying these figs for use with other 28-30 mm stuff should be warned that they are huge next to most of the other sci fi ranges I've got. (although they look pretty good next to the horror clix aliens which are in themselves huge.)
Still lovely sculpts ifyou can live with the scale difference

Thanks all, and thanks for the info on the boardgame. Anyone selling just the figs?

I'd like to see a photo of them scaled against, say GW Cadians, to get a better idea.

In addition to the boardgame, there was also a Heroclix version recently.  They were only sold as blind single packs, but I'm sure you could find any singles you might want someplace like Troll and Toad.

Just to mention that the Locusts from that Gears of War Boardgame are seriously worth the price of the game.

I think they are better than the Gears.

Haven't painted mine yet, but I really like the quality.

Yeah, figured that. I've been eyeing it for a while - just haven't stepped over the line.

Thanks.

And I've just noticed that the Police Squad from Moonfleet miniatures:

look like Gears, specially the guns - old Lancers maybe ;)

I've got those guys, and all of the Reaper Chronoscope Nova Corp figs comming up in the LPL, stay tuned, same Parriah Station, same Parriah Time!
They will be the 1st squad, 1st Platoon, Alpha company, 1st battalion, 1st Marines, 1st MAR DIV, FMF UPF  "Its like Gunny Marcus sez, 'With all those 1's in your name, you BETTER be the best, hadn't you?' "

and second squad and "Its like Gunny Thatcher sez, "You don't have to try harder when you're already the best!"
