Title: Force of Arms vs Company B mashup? Italian vehicles, 28mm 1/56
Post by: Sirius on 02 March 2012, 12:16:41 PM
Hello Lead Adventurers

Am busy mustering my Italian troops and equipment for the 1935/6 invasion of Abyssinia (and indeed for the 1940/1 conflict in the region).

Figures are from Empress. I was hoping to use a mix of Company B and Force of Arms vehicles. Are these a happy mix? I know both manufacturers list their goodies as 1/56th, but are they the same 1/56th? (Bitter experience of differences between ranges has left me a little skeptical of manufacturers' claims of scale.)

Are they close enough, to say, mix CV33 and CV35s from both manufacturers? Or should I restrict the mix to different vehicle types? Or not even that?

Got my eye on the Lancia IZM and CV33 from FoA, and the Lancia 3RO and M11/39 from Company B...

Thanks

I would go with that if honest I know some FOA stuff is more 1/60th and a little smaller but not if used in the same army but mixinfg in same unit I wouldnt

Or you could use Empress CV33/35's which do fit the figures  :?

Aha! The Empress Italian vehicles are in the SCW section of the site.. ;-). Overlooked them...

OK... next few questions. What scale are the Empress vehicles? Are the Empress vehicles closer to the FoA or the Company B offerings?

Yep.

The scale of our vehicles is 1/56. I am not sure about Company B comparisons but Force of Arms are slightly smaller. I have some of these and use them although do not mix the same vehicle as thats obviously different.

Paul

Thanks all for the input to date.

If FoA are a little less than 1/56th, then I might have to rethink the mix of vehicles. But... I really want a Lancia IZ/M in the force. So...

Does anyone know how the Copplestone Lancia compares to the FoA Lancia, size-wise? Which is closer to 1/56th?

Does anyone else make the Lancia IZ/M in 1/56?

Thanks
