Very nice group shot.Been thinking of buying some of these for awhile now.
-
Nice old school vibe to them and cracking paint jobs too.
-
Now we are talking, love them too and would buy them if I didn't already have around 150 hallfings left to paint.
-
They look great! Who makes them?
Blue
-
Black Hat Miniatures.
-
You did great Doc. They sure looks awesome.
-
They do look nice, and you did an excellent job with them.
-
Lovely job!
Love those minis (own a few too).
Cheers!
A.

Black Hat do great fabtasy minis, the Orcs and Dwarves are even better than the halflings!
A q for you Dr K, are they scaled to 1980s citadel haflings or late 1990s and 2000+?
BTW great job!

Late 90's.

That is a really helpful comparison shot- cheers.
-
Late 90's.
Cheers, but bugger! They're more dwarf size then...
-
Well, as can be seen from the picture, they are slightly slimmer and smaller, but yeah, close.
-
Any idea why they went bigger? easier to make or easier to paint
Sorry for the slight off topic question
-
Probably the same reason why everything got bigger over the years. Easier to sculpt, easier to paint, easier to increase the price.
-
Cracking unit there, Doc!
Lovely miniatures with even better paintjobs.
:-*
Just grabbed a pack of these for a friend and am tempted not to let him have them.
They are too nice to passing on. ;)
The fact that they are a little easier to paint, due to their size, is a good thing as far as I am concerned.

Great painting, especially the flesh and bases! Like the miniatures quite a bit. They have lots of rank-and-file poses which is great for buidling units. Wish they did more characterful individuals or packs of individuals in the spirit of the old citadel ones though. I don't find the Elvis, Napoleon, or Harry Potter ones at all charming or funny, but if the range had some fun in-period sculpts mixed in I would be tempted.

"We'll just get some drinks in, and then go kill us that giant!"
I love how this crew looks. Well done.
