Title: aeronef campaign
Post by: Feo on 08 March 2012, 02:58:31 PM
Hi everyone, even if I'm more an historygeek than a modelist here I am.

With a friend of mine who'se active here we're starting a steampunk areonef wargame, that's (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=36578.0) the thread about our custom made ships
http://aeronavum.wikispaces.com/ (even if the wiki is in italian maybe you can find some interesting pic)

the alternative history behind it's quite simple, we're in 1909 and the war is going to explode between Britain, Italy and (federal united states of greater) Austria versus Germany, Russia and (orleanist's) France

abviously the war will be mostly fought in colonies with aeronef, and we think that every theatre will be a single playable scenario.
the first one will be a symmetrical convoy raiding in the malay archipelago.

I'd like to hear your opinions or question about it, thanks!  :)

Yeah!

Finally the great day has come! Feo is a friend of mine, and he could be a great resource to this forum.

Well, i'm the modellist of the group, but he probably has painted more minatures than i did!
Again, welcome here on LAF, and please stay here as long as you like! ;)

Ditto for what about the help: we're starting this game using Full Thrust rules, but they look a little short, we would like more improvements, more weapons (maybe period-related) and stuff.

for the rules modification, we're gonna use FullNef (http://web.me.com/n.j.hawkins/Full_Nef/Welcome.html) to start, then adapting the core rules for a more depht.

Thanks to everyone, and cheers!

Jack, two requests, 1) be sure to put a link in the "all things airbourne" sticky to this and any other discussion about your games. 2) PLEASE share those rule adjustments!

I'm a huge FT fanboy, but adaptation IS the name of the game.  ;D

Actually it is one of my ships, his ships are not painted yet (i'm not in Milan at the moment), but they are very cool as well!
You can follow the thread about those (both mine and his) here:

Beside of that,

1) i will, you're right =)
2) All the rules are here on the wiki http://aeronavum.wikispaces.com/Regolamento
You might need a google translator, because at the moment we hadn't have the time for translate them! But we will, if the game goes as planned! ;)

Cheers,
Jack

Actually it is one of my ships(...)

Sorry, Jack, but I meant one look at the image, I knew it was yours, and he must be a friend. Dreadful, isn't it? English, of a sort, is my first language.

Let's see: I'll will take the dreadful Google translation, feed it through my own fevered concentration...

That's it, I'm boned...  lol

Really, should be able to glean most of what's necessary, and will indeed follow your further exploits!

we made the campaign setting now, tested some ships and now we are preparing the tabletop. everything is proceeding.

I also found my admiral for the fleet. After 1909 he decided to remain in India (instead of coming back in europe, as in the real world) and become the admiral of the bengala fleet.

Ah, i finally released the article about my first progresses in the 3d modelling:

cheers,
